I do a lot of initial music sketching in the car, parked while taking a break before the workday. OP1 is good for this. On iOS - I like Cubasis and Koala.
@PapaBPoppin what lapdesk is that? I have a wood one but I’d rather have metal
I'm a big fan of koala for quick ideas
Before the Launchpad I was taking my SMC-Pad with me. I use car lines (pickup after school) for auditioning sounds and practice. The SMC-Pad is GREAT for Bluetooth finger drumming. I'd throw J5 on in the car and load up a vintage trap set thru AudioLayer and jam for 20min
Now I'm working on learning better keyboard flow playing on the Notes Mode of the LPX (and can swap to drums in the custom mode)
Loopy Pro and Koala are my two mains
I have Cubasis from back Friday last year but haven't done anything with it yet. Holding onto it for a more traditional recording setup is needed (not yet, but I'm sure it will lol)
I snagged this one from target

This is my office/studio. The rolling table holding my Launchpad is very helpful. It slides under my large table and also holds my Apple Trackpad, guitar pedals and owners manuals. I plan on buying a rolling keyboard stand to place my Launchkey on to roll under the large table as well. Once that happens I will place my Roli gear, iPad, and NDLR next to my Tascam Model 24. 🙌
I bought the cabinet, shelves, small and large tables at Walmart. I attached the shelves holding the Model D and Wasp to the small table holding the Medusa, shelves and small rolling table under large table as well as the projector stand holding my MacBook came from Amazon. The most expensive furniture for my gear were the monitor stands.
I have 50 foot cables running around the perimeter of the room so all my gear is patched into the mixer. My KeyStep 37 is controls all of the modules on the shelves. My Launchkey 37 and Launchpad Pro controls all the gear on the other side of the room. I use all my workflows: Ableton, MPC, Logic, Maschine, and iPad. Just depends on my mood.
Time for me to do some wire management.
I made mine into a few cases as I don’t have the space this is set up in my kitchen when I feel the need![:) :)](https://forum.loopypro.com/resources/emoji/smile.png)
Quick note: Thx to Neural Note and other tools, we can expect clean audio to convert to MIDI later. Can't say I've used it a lot, but I keep this in mind in my early song "sketching" using audio.
I have nothing right now. My big desk broke when we were moving it so I have everything down on the floor. My speakers are on storage boxes at ear height. It's a mess but it's actually comfortable. I'm shopping for something else now.
