POLYMODE Synthesizer from Cherry Audio - Full Programming Tutorial & Sound Demo

Probably best known for Vox Humana sound that is all over early Gary Numan records the Polymoog still remains a classic synth.
Strangely enough, that sound, the Vox Humana was a preset only available on the later, and much cut-down, Polymoog Keyboard, which had very little sound design control at all.
The problem is that everyone loved that sound and it could not be recreated on the first Polymoog Synthesizer.
That led to people altering their original Polymoog so it could have the preset.

Originally released in 1976 the Polymoog Synthesizer retailed for a whopping $5295.
The Polymoog Keyboard came out in 1978 and retailed for $3995.
Weighing in at a hefty 37 kg.

The Cheery audio is extremely faithful to the original but with the added advantage of effects, much more modulation control and of course, the Vox Humana preset.
It costs considerably less than a real one too, at $39.00

I hope you enjoy the video.

Thought it would be more like the odyssey. Great video.

  • Still hoping to see Cherry Audio on iPadOS in one form or other sometime soon. This synth might be a good one for them to bring over.

    thanks dude

    (I like cherry audio, I have the ps-20 ;) )

  • I think it was used in Visage’s ‘Fade to Grey’ too, the brass preset, although later renditions used the ARP Odyssey.
