JWM - "The Light Amidst the Darkness" (808 Day Trance produced in NS2 on iPhone, mastered with GF2)
So in honour of 808 Day coming up on Thursday, I created a Trance track where the only drums used are from the 808 drum machine.
Anyways, whether you listen to the track front to back, or skim through it, I hope you all enjoy it. Cheers.

A gentle bump up.
Also gonna say - I've recently rediscovered Paul Van Dyk's amazing music, especially from the late 90s to mid 2000s. Punchiest drums I've ever heard in Trance music, amazing synths, complex layered sounds (more complex than what I have in my above track), etc. Listening to PVD's tracks is a masterclass in top-quality music production, period. (Not just for Trance and EDM, but for all music genres. His mixes are so clear and punchy).
Great track man.
Thanks mate. Much appreciated. Yeah, I wish I knew how to beef up a track with more percussion and background elements, but I'll mess with those sound production techniques on my next foray into Trance.
Another one right up my alley!
This one is good but as you write, more could be done. I am sort of waiting for more to ”happen” in the track. The drums are not punchy enough IMO to create a solid base, it needs more. But, as always, top notch production!

Exactly! Needs more layers like how Paul Van Dyk does in his tracks. I wonder if you have any solid tips and tricks and advice on this. Lol.
EDM Tips is always here for us, and it is indeed layers, layers and layers:

Good stuff
Don't know how I missed that. I was searching Youtube last evening for something like that, lol.
Thanks mate. And the challenge, you mean the one in Garageband? I still have to create my entry for that myself, lol.
Thank you so kindly mate.
🔥🔥🔥
I am the DJ, the lyrics leaving it to me to come up with something😎…
Cheers. 🍻
Sounds cool.
Fine, joyful, healthy, hypnotic, trance! ☀️☄️⛵️🏖️🤩
Cheers mate. Thank you. 🍻
I think you change genres more often than I change underwear!*
Definitely captures all the right elements, but I do agree with your self-assessment about layering things up on the percussion. Would be great to hear you do a few remixes of this with some beefed up percussion.
*So every few weeks I guess…
Yeah, sticking just to one genre sucks. 😂
Agreed 💯 Now the trick is to learn layering percussion like how Paul Van Dyk does.
Which is usually the time it takes me to become bored with a genre. 😂
