Hope you enjoyed that particular flip. (Justice flipped over 400 samples afaik for their entire "Cross" album.)
They should concentrate more on making the op/1 field and tx-6 worth the money we put into it. I’m not talking about crappy vocoders and a lofi effect. This company does such half ass shit sometimes, it makes me sick. That being said the Op-1 field is my favorite kit of all time. I guess is what they meant by a love/hate relationship huh?
Don't forget to buy your Medieval Quilt Bag (just $99) to carry your Medieval hardware in, and while you are in the store make sure to grab your Medieval Key Chain (only $15) and Medieval T-shirt (just $49). Hey, it's a marketing exercise so just buy everything...
I wonder if this one shopped at ye local Ren Faire will sell these as "magic musical boxes" right next to the tarot cards. 😂🤣
What are your most wanted improvements on the op1f? Or the tx-6?
For me it’s probably multi effects, and the sequencers to sync with playback on the op1f
Nice! This song features samples from Prince, 50 Cent and Queen amongst others: https://www.whosampled.com/Justice/Genesis/samples/
Yep. A masterclass in microsampling.
Pretty cute. If I was ever to buy an EP device, this would probably be the one.
That will never happen, however. I’ll get samples I want, from wherever I want to, keep them on a device of my choosing, and use them how I prefer to. Said device will be this iPad Pro, or the PC perhaps. Or my iPhone, even. Definitely not any of TE’s offerings, anyway.
Well, if we’re doing Godzilla influenced tracks:
(Mainly right at the end)
Can totally imagine TE doing a Kaiju edition.
Being able to send out the four tracks out of the op-1 field into tx-6. Separate tracks… maybe some sort of granular effect in op-1
Wonder who the market for this is... people who already have one of these samplers and are prepared to buy a second medieval one, or new customers who have been waiting to make music with lute and goat sounds?
I'm guessing this is for those who already dabble in an obscure genre called Bardcore on Youtube. Where people create medieval covers of popular songs as well as original medieval music.
Not gonna lie, this hardware looks like a lot of fun, but I can sample oneshots into Koala Sampler, add in a custom medieval background, and build my own virtual Medieval sampler device, lol. 😂 There, saved myself an extra $300 by using what I already have.

@elf_audio is the GOAT for this! 😂🤣🤣 Half-joking now, but this is exactly what I meant above by customising Koala as a way to create Bardcore. Marek beat me to it. I'm dead, lol. 💀
Absolutely wish that it was possible to send multi out from the op1f through the tx6.
Idk if that’s something that’s on the op or the tx tho. But that would be killer
Hahaha he was very quick off the mark!
I hope they do an EP KOii Bass. In red and black. 😉
Seriously though… I find this product a touch disappointing, lack of effort novelty.
“Check out our new thing… you get even less sample storage”
I don’t want to sound too crappy about it though, I expect plenty of people want more than one of such a thing though.
More user sample space rather than less would have maybe won me over.
Should be great for Depeche Maiden covers.
Part of me thinks that if I bought one of these and put the unopened box in a closet for 10 years I'd have something with collector value. But another part thinks that TE is probably gearing up to launch a whole series of novelty sample players in this vein (which means the "novelty" will wear off quickly).
I have no immediate plans to get one, but I like this person's tracks with it. Pretty good real-world user type review too.

I had gotten to the point where I pretty much dismissed TE altogether. But this unexpectedly has me interested. The price isn't bad. These samples could actually finally be a gateway to a sampling instrument for me. I doubt I'd ever need more storage for user samples than it has. Its ability to sequence external gear is something I could see myself using. The psuedo-Latin is just the sort of thing to catch my interest.
Reason tells me I could just collect some samples of medieval instruments myself...but I soon lost motivation once I started to do that.
I'm still on the fence, but I do think it would actually inspire me to create some things where similar instruments might not.
Well, we need a test subject, so you may as well step to it, mate.
Agree - "just collect some medievil samples and put them in Koala" is easier said than done, so I guess you're paying for the convenience. I'm not into the Renaissance thing so much, but would totally buy a future version based around 1970's cop show funk:
I know Roland did a Ltd edition SP404 mk2 version that was way too expensive imo.
What I would like to see Roland do is themed SP404 mk2 themed covers with sample sets supplied on SD card. At the right price, I would not only buy into that, but buy additional SP404 mk2s as I like them for many uses.

For anyone wanting to get their renaissance on without spending $299, I found this collegium mussicum soundfont that has some instruments from the 17th and 18th century that were compiled from the Oxford Bate collection. This can be used in the BS-16i iOS app.
That's great, thank you!
Also, the TE medieval sounds are available on the internet with just a simple search (don't know if it's cool to post a link).
If you wanna be banned from this forum, then it’s OK to post a link and be a piracy asshole…
Yes, please do not post links to illegal downloads.
