Interface and charging options
Hi folks, I'm an old hand at computer audio but a newb to iPad music tech, so please forgive me if I ask an obvious question, or feel free to point me in the right direction. I'm thinking of getting the focusrite Scarlett 18i8 interface for use with laptop and iPad. Basically is there a way of plugging the interface into the iPad while still charging the iPad? Cck's don't do it, right?

Not at the moment...
If you haven't made up your mind on the Focusrite yet, I advice you get an Apogee One (the iPad & Mac version). When connected to power supply, it charges the iPad while using. It also has a fantastic mic on it... The downside of One is you only get to record one channel of electric instrument and mic at the same time.
I have the old Apogee One and agree it's fantastic. Wish I could get me the new one for the charging but I can't afford it right now.
@Mucci, the new Apogee One does mic & instrument at the same time:

Thanks guys. The One would be great, but I do need to be able to multi-mic, so will have to stick to the Scarlett I think...

is there a way to mix digital output from iPad and macbook, somehow?
