I would like some feed back on theme/ style and sound quality

Hey guys I would like some feedback if ok it’s on theme and style of my instagram page , I’ve not gotten round to making a sound cloud account yet or uploading my ideas anywhere else other than instagram. I would like some feed back on the quality of sound and how it sounds on other peoples systems/devices . I have no recording or musical experience other than my own ears and what I like the sound off . Do I have a style that comes across ? As I’m all over the show from ambient to hardcore . I love techno and I’m heavily inspired by aphex . Would love some feedback as I’ve not pushed my page due to not feeling ready however , im getting more and more enjoyment form expressing myself this way and would love to hear what people who know more than me think :)
Thanks for taking the time to read this

Enjoy playing for yourself and nothing else. Don't worry about the quality or how it sounds. It's your music, and it is for you!

    :) thank you I agree

  • Can you put this on SoundCloud or Bandcamp? I don’t do Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, or any of those things. Basic membership is free on either of those. Free is good!

  • Not an instagramer so the portrait format threw me a bit, that and not seeing the little speaker symbol, thought it was silent movies.

Not knowing how it works, the page looked a bit crowded with all your videos appearing densely packed and missing their own identity. This may not matter for what I now know to be a thirty second format, the videos themselves seemed visually well constructed and interesting.

The quality of sounds seemed pretty good to me on cheap Logitech speakers and mpow bluetooth headphones but I might be missing some detail and separation.

I've only listened to about 6 and there is definitely diversity but seemed in the ballpark of experimental.

If identifying a style is important to you it might help doing longer more constructed pieces and see what themes, melodies, experiments recur.

You could randomly choose 6 of your 30 second pieces and see if you can make a coherent 5/6min piece with musical stitching, 6 x loaded aum file players and go from there fading them in and out.

Trusting your ears seems to be serving you well so far.

Your style might even be ambient-hardcore...hmmmmm :-/

  • Had a skim through your IG @Gordie , and your music sounds a lot like experimental Techno, which I really like. I'm really digging the vibe.

Unfortunately I don't use IG myself (I have an account, but it's basically a dead account as I can't be faffed with most social media platforms), so I can't follow or fave things there. I encourage you to definitely give Soundcloud a shot. I'm a next pro subscriber, so I can upload unlimited music. The basic free version currently allows up to 3 hours worth of uploading (it used to be only 2 hours, so not sure when the switch happened), so more than plenty of space for a newcomer to the Soundcloud platform to upload their music.

Anyways, looking forward to hearing what you'll upload to Soundcloud and following you there once you create the account.

Nice noises. That’s it, noises. Please don’t feel discouraged, everyone has to start somewhere. I do like where you’re heading.

  • I can offer more constructive criticism once I have some coffee. Basically EQ, Eq, eq
