Castanets/Guiros/Woodblocks
I'm thinking about doing a cover of a song that needs castanets, guiros and woodblocks for the percussion part. What's the best app(s) for this? I already have DrumJam, but that doesn't have castanets or guiros, not that I've seen anyway.

Heh, you could use real ones...
Yes, I may order some actually. It's probably more fun and realistic, but I was just curious because Audiobus is fun too.
Have you looked for soundfonts?
you can probably find something in the house to make both. Credit card along a ridged plastic water bottle works pretty well.

Argghhh. I need a 'search all' function for apps. I was playing around with Guiros the other day, but can I find where now?
Nope.
Toy stores are good source for this stuff too. Think most of my percussion comes from toy stores.
Using something real is always great.
But there is a basic guiro in ThumbJam's downloadable Erny's Percussion instrument.
There's a guiro in Sampletank too, in the Percussion pack, but I guess Thumbjam is a better solution.
Real instruments add more fun, though. I have bongos, kazoos...
DrumPerfect has a percussion kit with a guiro. No woodblocks or castanets though, although you can put your own samples in.
Most GM drumkits have wood blocks - look for a soundfont.

This GM drum map also mentions castanets: http://regnat.pagesperso-orange.fr/Doc700/GMGSXGDrumMap.htm

Can't vouch for the sound quality though, as haven't heard it.
