Sash! - S4! Sash! (JWM Remix) (Trance created in NS2, mastered with GF2, on iPhone)
So I did this remix, mostly to impress my mate Sascha, of his old track "S4! Sash!" (Okay, so I'm in a little bit of a creative rut, so I did a remix to get me back on track to try and complete this bloody Album/EP by 31 August, lol.)
I did everything in NS2, including the mastering since it's just a one-off track rather than an EP/Album. The synth sounds you hear are all Obsidian. The "real instrument" sounds are a mix of XinematiX and Module Pro. The weird Waterphone sound is iM1.
There are a LOT of layers in this remix. And yes, somewhere in the middle, I snuck in this weird 3-layered lead that's layered with a saw wave, an FM bell, and yes, the infamous JV-1080 Pizzi sound that showed up in many Eurodance recordings of the mid to late 90s. A few tracks from Sash!, Faithless, Vengaboys, etc, have used that sound, so it's a little nod to my childhood.
Here's the original track by the way.
Anyways, I hope you enjoy this. Cheers! 🍻

Just a gentle nudge up to the top.
Don't tell your mate, but I preferred your version. Stellar production as always.
Thanks so much, my friend. I think the reason you think that is the original is from 2002, aka 22 years ago (fuck, I'm old!), and was a great production for its time. Mine is a more modern-but-nostalgic version, kind of tapping into the "Paul Van Dyk" sound. ^_^
