Let this sink in, this is one of the earliest recordings from the TB303 from 1982 and it sounds like you could spin this in a club. Just amazing.

Orange juice also recorded and released rip it up in 1982 (album, single came out in 1983.) But it certainly sounds more like what we’ve come to know as a 303.
I vaguely remember a rumour going around that this was a hoax by aphex twin. I’m glad that’s been disproved, but it’s kinda testament to how good it is.
Seems like there is a credible reason to dispute the originator of acid house. This was very forward thinking and proved beyond the shadow of a doubt the use of the 303 as a bass guitar replacement.
Thank the gods I was able to see Charanjit Singh when he toured in 2014.
Cool short movie I just found
Finally had the time to check this out, and damn. What a great track! Definitely Indian in musicality, but sounds exactly like what people in Chicago and Detroit invented. Of course back then, there was no widespread internet, so Charanjit Singh didn't know who, say, Jeff Mills was and vice versa. But we as an audience get to benefit from listening to these great records.
