The Audiobus Forum is now the Loopy Pro Forum!

In case you didn't see the announcement thread, I have some big news: Audiobus – the app – is going to a new home. Francesco and Andrea are developers and musicians who are keen to pursue Audiobus’ further potential, keep it updated and enhance the experience for users old and new – and unlike me, they have the resources to do so! They’re full of ideas and energy, and I am confident that Audiobus will be in good hands.

The Audiobus Forum, however, is staying right here with me. After some consultation with the community here about what to do, I've decided to rename it to the Loopy Pro Forum, at forum.loopypro.com.

It has a new name and new colours, but otherwise, it's the same place, and nothing else will change.

Cheers,
Michael

Building a midi controller - pitch bend and mod wheel options or names?

Title pretty much says it

How can I find pitch bend (springy) and mod wheels (no springy!) to add to my build?

My searches have lead to people asking about standalone controllers... And some people have shown off their diys, but i can't find the terms I need in those threads either

Not necessarily adding them (would definitely love to, but it'll be after I get the rest working piece by piece, and assuming it's not a devil of a task to add) but... I'm at a loss for how to even start finding info xD

Tho I did find a GitHub library for Arduino mod and pitchbend, so that's definitely a boon!

  • These "XY Joystick" modules are extremely cheap and abundant:

They don’t feel as nice as a proper radial pitch bend controller, but depending on what you’re using it for these can be pretty fun. You can also remove the spring from one axis to have a (hacky but functional) pitchbend / modwheel combo.

I find that these are great for prototyping, at least :)

    I appreciate the info!

I'm just looking for the wheels to get pricing and some backend info (size, connections, etc)

I just don't know what they're called to search for them in the development sense (and not bringing up keyboards, midi controllers, or other finalized products)

Was hoping one of the electronics nerds* around here could give a hand to snuff out my ignorance xD

    *said with the utmost respect

Ahhhhhh your use of Radial got me in a closer direction!!

Radial Potentiometer is soooo close (brings up a few)!!

  • In a quick search , I saw that some people refer to tension wheels as the component used to make pitch and mod wheels.

  • OMG DIAL WHEEL POT

AND ROCKER FOR SPRING LOADED RETURN

Case closed, gang! Who wants some Scooby snacks?!

(This was about 12hr of just blindly trying terms i was hoping would connect before posting here)

    @orchid you're an angel!!
