Korg Gadget Sampling
I've been working more with samples and I finally understand what people are talking about with the sample limits. Vancouver is a great sampler with a solid time-stretch algo but the time limit is sooooo short. 20 seconds could be the minimum and cover any loop. I know Sydney is there but I need the full keyboard access to play around with chords and layering and glide fx.
Just a rant and plea if any Korg Devs are lurking

I've never purchased Vancouver because 2 samples max. is an odd limitation. With a few exceptions (samples and loops imported in Bilbao and Stockholm), Gadget is my quick sketch tool with a great selection of presets.
I like it for making instruments from samples and playing with loops.
Vancouver is not presented as a looping sampler. It’s a melodic/scale sampler for using with a keyboard, as you mentioned in your second post.
Do you like Abu Dhabi?
Yeah but it has a 10 second sample limit which is longer than most one-shots and it has patches with loops in it so it'd be nice if they just increased the sample length another 10 seconds to cover all loops. I know Sydney does the looping but it doesn't have the full keyboard sample juggling/layering and glide fx.
Abu Dhabi is cool. I use it mainly for chopping samples from YouTube.
Pitch the sample up 12 semitones before you import it and then pitch it down again in Vancouver. Should give you twice the sample time
Good idea but I just ended up switching to Cubasis for the audio track pitching features for that sample. Time-stretch algo sounds close enough and I can still use gadgets in Cubasis. They really made a huge leap by making most of their gadgets AUv3.
Thanks for the advice! I'll keep that in mind for trying out some other tricks.
