Cherry Audio - CR-78 - Classic & Iconic Patterns & Sounds - Walkthrough & Factory Preset
I absolutely love this, not only is it a faithful recreation of the original CR-78 released in 1978 but it also many other features the original did not have.
But to hear this really shine you need to dig through the presets.
Cheery Audio have gone to great lengths to make some of the most iconic drum patterns that used the CR-78, for example you will find In The Air Tonight, Heart Of Glass, Enola Gay, Tainted Love and tons more.
You can, of course, program your own patterns and turn them into full songs, or just add to existing patterns.
In the video I show you pretty much everything including loads of those classic patterns.

I do love all of the Cherry Audio synths and plugins I have, but I tested this one for myself and decided against it. Adherence to the workflow of the original hardware (which I would normally applaud, but in this case became a drag during my testing) and the harshness of the sounds ultimately made it a pass for me.
On the other hand, should Cherry Audio ever decide to make their own versions of the E-mu Drumulator, Simmons Drum Module, LinnDrum, Roland R-8 and other period accurate drum simulations, I'll be right there on day one, ready to buy.
