Hi Mods. Why is a certain thread staying buried even with activity?

It doesn’t seem fair to a certain member who was called out for some perceived, petty wrong-doing. (I being among one of the finger pointers.) He was classy and came back to talk about it. Too bad most people who viewed the thread might be left with the wrong impression about somebody is all I’m saying.

  • I think it was sunk because of the subject matter discussed within the thread.

  • Oh, it’s okay, let the thread sink.

Thought it fitting since, you know, they’re musicians….

Anyone who thinks COVID yielded positives and is a topic of jubilant discussion is an idiot to be quite nice about it. I could be more descriptive but I won’t. The thread should’ve been closed when one moron said COVID enhanced his life and lifestyle. A few of my family members died from COVID, one was a 38 year old father of two, so no, the thread should be locked - forget buried.

And this site is about iOS music production as many have said, like Simon. To be frank, no one cares about how Covid made your life better while it killed millions.

I strongly agree with you. Anti-vaccine comments are not based on any reliable scientific data, and have no place on any public forum, much less on a music forum.

Why are some people trying to resurrect this? It seems like their identity depends on it.

I agree with both of you, but could only spot frivolous comments about how it was good for themselves and another thinking it all was entertaining posting ‘popcorn’ memes, very insensitive given that people have and sadly are still being affected by the pandemic.

  • I’m not here to question the rules. Had the rules been enforced, the thread would have been closed, which would have been better. Instead it was simply buried, with @seonnthaproducer kindly responding to me directly, and I barely noticed two days later cause the thread disappeared. What if he hadn’t tagged me? I would have continued to go on with a reinforced notion that he avoids dialog with me, which is what I wrongly accused him of in the first place. That’s fucked up.
    That is my beef.

  • Thanks @tubespace @knewspeak
I’m glad others feel as strongly as I do about this (and that the thread was closed)

Sure this is a place for us to talk, and bullshit, but it’s not the place to bullshit about serious, mortal, life changing medical talk

Let’s stick to whether celebrities sign NDAs for videos you can’t even tell what is going on lmao

It’s all good. I saw it was buried, and I had a ton of notifications, so I would tag you. I would have sent a message via Audiobus messaging feature as well just to make sure.

Michael, and the team here are pretty solid at what they do. But sometimes they have to make tough calls, especially as our members are so many.

Not the first time I’ve requested their help on a few controversial threads I did back a few years ago.

Eh yeah. I don’t know why I’m even focusing on what could have happened. It didn’t happen. We made it right. I should have just let it go. My bad all. I think I need another internet sabbatical.

Nah, it’s natural to think of worst case scenarios, and prepare for them. I think that’s what the past few years taught us. And we’re slowly getting back but it will take a while.

Economy sorta down, things are all over the place.

    Yet, better days will come…

There's a difference between discussing musicians past and present and other stuff related to music (and not strictly music production) vs discussing controversial topics like politics, which you seemingly like to discuss to no end. If you want to discuss controversial topics, I would suggest moving the conversation to social media (Facebook, Twitter/X, etc) where you can join a group that gels with your personal views and keep the forum for music-related topics only.

Or you can make a song about your viewpoints and post it in Creations. At least it's musical that way. ;) Easier to digest. (I once made an anti-organised-religion song in the style of Rammstein mixed with TripHop. It was so "brave and stunning" (self-deprecating sarcastic humour, lol).)

I'm not saying you can't express yourself, but it pays well to "read the room" of anywhere you are, online and offline. Best of luck making your music.

No Mike had a point - other is for random or off topic stuff - all else music wise, meaning most discussion should be iOS category related

I agree. At the same time, it IS entertaining to watch trainwrecks online. Some people are just super attracted to conspiracy theories (anti-vaccine, flat earth, deep state, chem-trails, and the like). And they can't help themselves - they HAVE to share their thoughts on it. But this is a music tech forum - and yes - we should keep these off-topics away from here.

I think the "other" category is for 'other' music tech stuff that's not covered by the main categories. AFAIK, it's not for conspiracy theories haha.
