The Cadrage Director’s Viewfinder app is cool 😎

You can set it to emulate various film & still cameras, select a lens kit and anamorphic if you like. Use LUT presets or customize your own. View all meta data and shoot either stills or video for all kinds of cinematic looks.

It’s more fiddly than XPAN and most of the time I prefer XPAN, but Cadrage is impressive.

It’s also $20. I didn’t pay that for it, as I’ve had it a long time, but if that level of control for cinematic looks is your jam, I’d say it’s well worth the $20

PS: it’s set up by default to display all of the details of the setup in the image, since it’s intension is for using it as a directors viewfinder to sort out how you want scenes shot before you’re on set. But, you can turn off all the setup display text in the settings if you just want the images without details displayed. And, you can still see all of the setup info in the metadata if you want

Side Note: The hammock is mine. I usually travel with an Eno hammock with hanging straps for just such a scenario. In some parts of Mexico there is even metal hardware built into the walls for hanging hammocks called “hamaceros”. They require these S shaped metal hooks to hang your hammock from. I travel with a set of those too in case the hotel doesn’t have them. Sometimes the hamaceros are hidden behind metal plates that slide up or behind paintings 🖼️ on the wall since most don’t use them much anymore. Except me

Thanks The overcast light was muted that day and a little odd. Also, enhanced by whichever XP4N “film” I had selected. Probably daylight, but might’ve been balanced.
