Getting midi into a drambo MFx.

So I want to use a drambo module as a midi controlled auv audio effect. It works fine as a regular audio effect but i can’t seem to get logic to pass midi into it to modify parameters. What am I missing?

Load Drambo as a ‘Midi Controlled Effect’(in the instrument slot) on a midi instrument track and side-chain the audio track you wish to process to it.

  • @Samu Sorry I was not at all clear. What I want is to add a drambo formant filter after a software synth in a midi track and control a parameter in the filter from the same midi stream that’s driving the synth. Only reason for this is I can’t find a formant filter in any built in synth. Is it possible to do what I want? There’s no side chain access to this filter that I can see.

For now, I will just build a drambo synth with its own filter. Thanks.

To get midi to pass thru to Drambo mFX the previous Instrument AUv3 has to have a midi thru function for the midi from the sequencer to be able to pass thru the synth/instrument into the following effects. Not all AUv3 synths are created equal, one synth that does have optional midi thru is TAL-U-NO-LX, when it is used in midi-thru mode the midi automatically passes thru to Drambo mFX on the same track.

Even though I like LogicPro for iPad midi routing is still one area that needs MAJOR improvements :sunglasses:
