Life Is Just A Name / inspired by our lofi guys

Thanks to @PapaBPoppin and @jwmmakerofmusic i attempted something like their lofi tracks. Unfortunately, cannot stop being me, so I’m sure I didn’t stay within the genre. Maybe it’s just lofi Mr. Rogers, lol.

House Mark1, RetroPiano and PureSynthPlatinum strings.

  • Beautiful work, my friend. <3 It would be super easy for me to flip this into a Lofi beat, but in a bit. Got a different thing I'm working on at the moment. ;)

  • @jwmmakerofmusic download at will, mate.

  • Very nice indeed. @LinearLineman
And some of my favourite apps as well. Mr Rogers was probably an intro to jazz piano for a lot of us. 😁
Keep up the excellent work. ✌🏾

Wow dude. That's gorgeous! I second what jwm said, that screams to be chopped and sampled. Everything is right there for a killer beat, just the drums and some bass to fill out the low end (heh... I'm working on this 'applied knowledge' thing as I'm very new to 'understanding' [almost there, I think?] the genre)

But damn, the piece as written, that's a stellar build itself. Youve got a great way of creating rhythm and movement between the keys

Very musicboxy... But longform and relaxing rather than invoking a childlike whimsy or a playful feel, playing against the Mr Rogers sound, but... Can definitely feel the essencse of that... Innocence?

You basically captured childhood thru a slightly broken adult's life perspective... Not quite positive, but all the elements are there that it could change at any moment 😂😂

If I were not slammed in learning, practicing, and last touches on putting together my setup (few of the last misc pieces are coming for my bday squee!!) - I'm fighting the urge to grab this and see what I could do with it!

(Tho it'll definitely be in the back of my mind if/when I finally fold and just do it xD)

    Very dope melody, my guy!

  • I love the Mister Rogers reference. Are you familiar with Johnny Costa? He did the music for the TV show. He was a master improviser. Fred Rogers allowed him to have complete control of the music. My little sisters loved Mr. Rogers, I loved the background music. He improvised every show! Here are a couple things I think you will enjoy…

Here is another. It’s a little bit about his life story. Our stories are very similar. He started on accordion and moved to piano. He had perfect pitch. He went to Normandy Beach. Had I been born a year earlier, I would have gone to Viet Nam. I’m sure you remember the draft lottery. I just remember Mom crying “Thank you, Lord!”.

I am going to post something in Other Music Content in a day or two that I would like you to hear… and a request.

  • Thanks @Thepixelproducers @Paulieworld. And thank you @PapaBPoppin for taking the time to write some very nice words. Appreciated!
