  • Just wondering what the implications are for apps/devs. Everyone here is super on top of this kind of stuff, but what about the others? Will this result in another wave of "abandonware to be"?

    Haven't posted in a while and wanted to share this. Maybe it shouldn't be a surprise, but I don't remember this sort of thing for any other ios update since this forum has been around.

    No, if you look at the page it talks but having to have 64 bit support but also talks about having both 32 bit and 64 bit code.

  • Some devs will support both, some may just convert and abandon 32bit and some will just abandon the app.

  • Supporting both is not an issue, in general. The only reason I haven't added 64bit slices is the few abandoned 3rd party binary libraries I'm still using, such as the Akai Synthstation one. At that time I will just have to say goodbye to that.
