Can’t find AUM Clock Divider function …

Hi

A Clock divider/multiplier function was added to AUM fairly recently which was extremely useful for rhythm plugins etc.

But I can’t seem to find this function now in any of the plugin window menus - is it still there, and if so, where is it hiding? I’m running latest beta release.

@j_liljedahl Is this function still available, and if so, where is it hiding?

Cheers
Richard

  • Do you mean adjusting the time signature or something else?

It’s similar to a clock divider in a modular setup …

I.e. if the AUM clock is set to 120BPM, an individual plugin could receive multiples/fractions of that clock speed e.g. 60 BPM, or 240 BPM.

Is that a beta only function, or something you remember being in the App-Store version?

I’m sure it used to be on this menu, I could be wrong, but if not this menu, one that looks very like it.

Are you sure? On the AUM Discord, I find a discussion from 11 months ago in which Jonatan was asked if it was possible to add it, but I didn’t see anything about it actually being added.

I’ve found it here … this is from the latest beta, though I used the function in a beta a few months ago I think.

To check this, I’ve just reinstalled the latest stable App Store release and this function is not present (in the location above anyway), but it is there in the current beta.

  • Thought so. I didn't recall any public mention of that feature on here or on the Discord.

There should be a more direct line of communication to Jonatan for beta questions, I would think.

I hadn’t twigged it was a beta issue when I made my original post!

Well, at least you gave us all something to look forward to without having to have a guilty conscience over discussing beta issues. 😎

  • Cat’s out the bag! 😹

This is such a killer feature. Can’t wait for release.

If there was ever an NDA i must have missed it completely 😬

I would ask the developer their preference. Many devs don’t do ndas and prefer that beta versions not be discussed with non beta testers.

  • Great, now I'm jealous and want this for other AUv3 hosts 😅

Sure ... again though, I hadn't originally clocked that this was beta related, so it's a bit different to deliberately sharing beta secrets against developer's wishes.

Clocked. Good pun! I would just let the developer know. It was obviously unintentional on your part.
