Any Zenbeats users?

Hi everyone, does anyone use Zenbeats. It was a time I used Roland hardware like the SP and Roland Cakewalk Sonar at the time. I was wondering how everyone likes Zenbeats? I want to use it, but their was a time I felt burnt by Roland from Cakewalks sale etc.

Are Roland committed to the development of Zenbeats? I wanted to try Zenbeats out. Thanks.

Zenbeats is my preferred iOS DAW, though I use Loopy Pro for most things.

It works great but has a few glitches here and there. It's actively maintained though the momentum of updates has slowed somewhat. Zenbeats is free to try out, though with limited features. It should be enough to give you an idea though.

If you're looking for the most stable "traditional" iOS DAW, I feel like Cubasis is the best. Other's might say Logic Pro, but I've not tried it and am not going to.

No DAW on iOS is perfect.

  • Last year I got frustrated with Cubasis and decided to try Zenbeats. I really liked using it but did not stick with it because of a bug with the multi out of Hammerhead. I think it’s been fixed since then.

It’s strength are the drum module is well integrated in the software and you can buy midi beats pack. I wish Cubasis did the same. Cubasis drums are frustrating.

I also really like the midi editor. It is so much faster and less frustrating than Cubasis.

The negative are that the tool bar on the left is a bit weird to get used to at first and the documentation is super outdated. But the developer is really good at answering questions. Try to remember that the interface is made to work on desktop and mobile phone. The tool bar last button don’t seem to work because the screen resolution is showing everything vs a phone resolution.

  • The lastest Cubasis were pretty good. Especially the quality of life update.
