Don't be mislead by colors.
discoDSP makes two similar apps for the desktop: "Discovery" and "Discovery Pro". The app they're teasing for the iPad is "Discovery". However, everybody is posting info here about the desktop "Discovery Pro".
For maximum confusion,
- On desktop, Discovery has a white UI, and Discovery Pro has a red UI.
- On iPad (as teased), Discovery has a red UI.
Compare the gray banners above the lower-right section of the UIs:
- Desktop Discovery: DELAY and GATE.
- Desktop Discovery Pro: WAVES, GATE, MOD, and DELAY.
- iPad Discovery: DELAY and GATE.

I'd be perfectly OK with the 'non sample capable' Discovery version to be totally honest...

I've owned Discovery Pro since version 1 on desktop. I love this synth, always have. I'm a preset junkie and these have a shedload of them. Great interface, easy to tweak. This is a pleasant surprise for you guys.

I just thought about how I escaped the new OB-XD by keeping the old version.🤦♂️ I really don’t have enough stamina to dodge this one. It sounds incredible.
Do we really need those missing features on the iOS version? I must admit, they are more than a plain decoration.

These different versions are confusing.
Not only different features.
The screenshot also seems to show "16 voice ...".
The non-pro desktop version seem to have 32 voices, the pro 128.
Performance ist not the problem. My M2 iPad is as powerful as my M2 Mac.
Its simple for me. I will only buy the full pro version for iPad.

No problem, optionally limit the voices.
I also have an older iPad and it never had issues with any synth or modeler.
It only seems to me as if it were a artificially slimmed down version.

I expected somebody will ask this. Well Discovery is true clone / emulation of Nord Lead 2 synth with all his features very close to real HW .. Nerd Synth is nothing like that, it just has sampled waves from Nord Lead A1 and other major importsnt details of sound character (filter, pwm modulation, fm modulation) are unlike the any nord .. so yeah, you can get some simple basic sounds which are a kinda-like in nord terrirory , but as soon as you want to go deeper to sound design you realise it has nothing to do with HW ..
TLDR; - if you want just few factory presets which sounds a little bit (sometimes) like nord, nerd synth is ok for you .. if you want true Nord Lead legendary sound with ability to design any sound you can design on HW - then Discovery is for you :-)
