OT: So, Ultimate Guitar does not run on Mac - any alternatives...

that do the same thing as UG?

According to the UG forum it won't run on a Mac due to "technical reasons", that's all they (developers) say on it!

So looking for an alternative for the Mac. It runs fine on the iPad, however I am wanting to try and use the Mac instead.

  • What do you need from the app that you can't get from the website directly?

Windows PCs are good alternatives to Macs.

Just trying to run is sans browser - well, at least I THINK I can run it from Safari??

  • Works fine from Safari here.

Trouble with browser version is it is reliant on a wi-fi connection...the app will allow offline access when a chart is marked as a favourite.

  • And it also has a few bugs - one nasty one is when you go to add a personal to a Playlist, it deletes your song, edited or not! No chance of recovery...so you have to go back find the chart edit it and save it again.

Yes and for me...however as I wrote above I am trying to avoid needing a browser as it needs wi-fi!! Not much use at a venue with none, and no personal hotspot available!
