IK MULTIMEDIA FREE MIXBOX PRESETS FROM SEONN - In celebration of our 5 year iOS Journey

EDIT 2: Giveaway Winners already announced. Congratulations. But feel free to download the preset here. It's the Zip file on this post.

Congratulations to the Mixbox winners

@SamSamSam
@Gravitas
@mrufino1
And special congratulations to @danbun for winning a $25 CAD Apple gift card.

Here’s a video demonstrating each of the presets

A short demonstration of my FIRST MIXBOX PRESET

-------------------------

Hey everyone,

I just wanted to take a moment to express my gratitude for being part of this amazing iOS Community. To celebrate, I’ve teamed up with IK Multimedia (well, more like I asked them for a few Mixbox codes!) and designed some custom presets to share with you all.

These presets reflect a range of influences, including my secret vocal chain, reworked for Mixbox, and some inspired by fellow iOS producers like @Gravitas and @jakoB_haQ, among others.

One preset in particular is special to me, dedicated to my best friend, Mehol (MHL), who passed away last year. Rest easy, my friend—you lived a good life. Rock on.

I’ve attached the preset banks below and have a video coming soon. Just need a little time to finish editing it!

Also, if you feel like supporting, you could follow my YouTube channel. It’s not required to enter the giveaway, but I’d appreciate it as I’m still a small-time YouTuber and content creator trying to grow.

Thanks again, and good luck!

EDIT: My Youtube channels are

MAIN: https://youtube.com/@seonnthaproducer?si=_gICQsbIeE81zkUS

NEW CHANNEL: https://youtube.com/@seonn-livetoday?si=kGicYuMexr3UI6TA

PRESETS ARE NO LONGER AVAILABLE FOR DOWNLOAD. Thanks to everyone who participated.

All good. I also made a new channel for my other stuff that's not so iOS related so I can better tailor contents to the right people.

Okay, we have 1 winner. Congratulations to @SamSamSam

But that's not the only code. Got a few more from IK Multimedia. We're doing this all day.

Also, if you've already sent me a message, you're in the draw. I just didn't want to keep people waiting.

Next on goes to @Gravitas . Congratulations, man. You even have a preset named after you.

Okay, in the spirit of fairness, I'll do two gift cards. Currently at $25CAD each. Was aiming for a lot more but life happened this week.

Anyways, let's keep this going. Got 1 more code left for this app. But I'll figure something out to split the gift cards between the remaining people.

Oh that's so cool and sweet on many levels! Very curious to hear their influence!

These presets are included in the pack attached here? Or are they included in one of the prizes of the giveaway?

Yeah, I already recorded the video. Editing takes a bit more time, sadly. But it's going steady.

Haha heard on Editing. I'm just beginning this journey, coincidentally. Got a camera this past week to do my first On Camera YouTube vid tonight!

(And also, first time learning video editing, it's a blast, but it's a looooot xD)

Thanks for the great content and fun giveaway!

That's awesome. I haven't had much experience with professional cameras. All of my videos are shot from my phones.

I'd say the best tip is keep recording videos. And save presets of things you spend time doing.

Filter, screen layout; transitions, you name it. Organize them in a way that works for you.

Also, use the free tools first. IMovie is amazing with its amount or filters and stuff integrated. Then export the video into your editing app like Capcut, Luma Fusion, etc for advanced edits.

re:Cameras Haha by far from professional xD. I was trying to use phones but mine (note 9) over heats when using the back 60fps cam (only option there) and I managed to get my old streaming USB cam working... ONCE. and never again xD

So it was a necessity (knockoff 1080/60, 4k/30 hand held with a flip screen). However also got a Zoom H1 to pair with it! Better sound for On The Go video recording (tested at my eldests marching band halftime show last night!), but also going to use the fk out of it to grab natural world samples to slice n dice the crap out of and use for my own dastardly deeds!

(It was my birthday and extended family are all musicians of varying degree and professions, so all are very encouraging in my ventures. This is all possible thanks to their grace)

    re:Tips

Thank you SO very much!! Yes, I'm hoping to record record record. Not just for content, but I've never been a record keeping type... And I need to start capturing the family stuffs better

Ooo yeah, haven't done a LOT of preset work yet, but I definitely havent properly saved any while learning

Ok, so I started learning on LumaFusion a few months back (99% on a sale while I was conceptualizing how to move forward with this whole thing) - I'm becoming accustomed to its setup

Would it still be beneficial to try and use iMovie for the basics workings as you suggested? (It would involve learning a new UI etc), or can I accomplish those same tasks with similar relative ease now that I'm somewhat settled in LumaFusion at this point?

I'm so green to all this, if it IS worth it being easier etc I'll open it up and start working with it... But if it's kinda negligible (if I've already gotten over the LF hump?) I don't want to waste time

I hope that makes sense. Asking your opinion since you're a lot more versed in these opinions than myself (and not even knowing where to go to ask these things otherwise. So thank you so much for your time and knowledge!)

I shared my setup on the first post but I use IMovie because it effectively sorts videos out, and has great transitions already. I only just realised today that it is excellent at making shorts from videos.

Personally I like the ease of use of iMovie to set up a quick video. Then I export to Lumafusion for precise edits/views. Saved me a lot of mismamaging files.

Don't worry about making presets. All they are, are quick ways to apply arrangements you've setup precisely.

Delightful explanation that makes perfect sense! I'll dip into that tonight with some video testing I'll be doing!

Very VERY grateful for these "things I wish I knew when I started" style tips

(Not gonna find on list, but handy lil tidbits to make it smoother)

No worries, always happy to share my workflow to those that are interested. It changes often, and everyone has different skillsets so it doesn't really bother me.

Feel free to reach out here, or via DM on Instagram. That's the fastest way I respond to people.

Thanks as well. Still editing the video explaining the choices of presets and how they were designed. Here's hoping it will be out by tomorrow so I can do the last giveaway on the Facebook group.

Rock on.
    ...

Oh that's so cool and sweet on many levels! Very curious to hear their influence!

These presets are included in the pack attached here? Or are they included in one of the prizes of the giveaway?

They are all in the zip file here. Have fun.

Yeah, I already recorded the video. Editing takes a bit more time, sadly. But it's going steady.

Oh fantastic!! I'll check it out this weekend!

    This.
We’re all looking forward to some coming videos!

    Thanks in advance!

Appreciate it. I’ll upload them as soon as I’m done editing.

But here’s something I’ll try this time. I’ll put the link up here early, even before it’s released to the public on my YouTube channel.

Because the Audiobus forum members here are the true audience for the iOS stuff. No sense in taking time to preview it, when they could get value out of the video immediately.

Curious - can you tell us your ”setup” to editing videos?
    Mac/Win/iPad/AndroPad?
    Software?
Lumafusion, Davinci Resolve, Premiere, Final Cut, CapCut?

The progress in develop software to editing videos has certainly increased much last two years, and, much to choose from!

Great question, and I’ll absolutely answer it.

    Shooting videos…
Google Pixel 5. That’s it. Literally, in the start of the video, I was talking to Jakobhaq about how this is the best camera phone.

    1. Image stabilization works without any additional gear
    2. Night mode shots are amazing
    3. Has the free Google Photos feature to store videos at 1080p UNLIMITED. It is the last phone to do that.

Now, editing is a specialized task. Each clips are different, and sometimes I shoot from different devices.

    For this video,

I simply load them up on iMovie for iPad or iOS and I arrange the clips. iMovie automatically sorts them out by timestamp, which saves me a LOT of time. I trim out anything I cannot use directly on iMovie, and can use their cool transitions whenever I need to.

Then I use an app like the Photos app to add filters to the exported video, delete the iMovie Project to save space on my iPad/iPhone. Since I have unlimited photos, and video storage on Google Photos because of the phone, I don’t really see the need to keep the project file.

Then, I send the clips to LumaFusion to do the full edits. I add the music, the intros, and try and cut down a lot of the video. I do things like the fast Timelapse at the end of the video.

Then I export it to YouTube. I prefer uploading via the YouTube app because I can add additional filters to improve the quality of the video. No sense buying LUT packs when the filters in a lot of apps are insanely good, and free.

Also, small trivia. I used AI a LOT on this video.

    1. I didn’t hook up a lav mic to Jakob. It was just the raw audio from the Google pixel, which I sent into Adobe podcast to clean it up. That’s what you’re hearing.

    2. The background music (except for the copywrited stuff that the dance crew were vibing to) was all generated from Suno AI, but they were prompts I specifically did, and chose, and fed samples to. Then, in LumaFusion, I added a few AUv3 like Blackhole Reverb, slowed down the audio, and rendered it to the video.

Also, another small trivia. I gave @Gravitas half of my Moment lens stuff. I didn’t really use it. But Gravitas does some amazing art work, so I know he’ll get a lot of value out of them.

I also bought the Moment stuff for less than 1/4 the price. Facebook Marketplace for the lenses, and they did an insane clear out on the moment website.

But, I’ll be honest. I never really use them. The fish eye lens, and the zoom in lens (for closer concert shots) are my favorite. The wide angle lens is also great in certain shots.

Gravitas does film work, so the anamorphic lens, and the macro lens were up his alley.

    @seonnthaproducer said:
Here’s the behind the video clip I just did. It’s currently processing but I figured I post it now before I forget. It’s only 1 minute, so pause at anytime to see stuff.

Also, feel free to watch at 0.5x speed to see exact details. I made it fast for the sake of upload.

BEHIND THE VIDEO - Exploring Sweden with Jakobhaq | Season 6, Episode 1

One more controversial statement…the iPhone video camera is not great. The iPhone selfie camera is not fantastic. The iPhone nighttime shots are awful.

Where it does excel is in the panorama, the Timelapse, and other cool modes, like the portrait shot. I’m still experimenting with Filmic Pro’s double take app, and the Moment lens native app.

Google pixel blows it out of the water when it comes to real life shots.

This is the reason why I can’t work for Apple, despite having friends who work for Apple. I’d be too critical about their product.

  • Newbie here! Am I'm the only one who can’t figure out how to install your MixBox presets? I’ve got an iPad.

Great. I was waiting for someone to ask this.

You need to extract the zip file, then "Share" the presets into Mixbox.
It should give you a folder to save it into. Select the one you want. Or make a new one.

There used to be a way to do it all at once but I haven't found it. I've been messaging IK and they're possibly working on it.

  • edited September 22

Got the preset folder made, but sharing individual presets one at a time wants a new folder created each time! Frustrating. How do your presets appear in MixBox? Under their own folder?

  • @StudioSisu I get that it's frustrating. I don't have an answer on that right now. I only have the one device to test it. When I share individual presets, I'm able to save it.

I've reached out to them for the steps to do a bulk preset transfer, but I still recommend reaching IK Multimedia as well so they can see the exact problem. It's hard to diagnose things over the forum.

  • @seonnthaproducer

Thank you for the Mixbox code and for the Moment Lenses.
I've still yet to delve deep into Mixbox however just scratching
the surface of the effects available is sufficent enough for me to say
that I'm going to be using Mixbox a lot in in the future.
Well done @IK_Multimedia for making Mixbox.
I've been wondering around London taking photos and videos
using the Moment Lens with my Google Pixel 5 and my ancient iPhone 7
getting use to the anamorphic lens flare colours and lens distortion.
One of the anamorphic's flares blue and the other flares gold.
Top tip there's an app called Snapdragon on Google Play which you can use
for transfering files from Android to idevice and from idevice to Android.
The easiet way I've found is to have Snapdragon installed on the Google Pixel 5/Android device
and to use "Pairdrop.net" via a web browser on the iDevice or macbook/mac desktop.
I use it a lot for transferring photos taken on the Pixel 5 for editing on my iPads.

Needless to say I'm having a lot of fun with both Mixbox and the Moment Lens. ;)

Talking of @IK_Multimedia and code giveaways. Didn't someone recently give away a MixBox promo code to their friend on here, that was supplied by a IK Multimedia? Didn't it then turnout they had needed their friend to help them with an ongoing problem they still have with distributing multiple MixBox presets? Pure innocent coincidence I'm sure, but I think more care may be needed when it comes to promo codes distribution. I wonder how the contact at IK Multimedia feels about this, if they even know, and if they would ever give them codes again?

Hey man, I checked the entries, and you weren’t even on the list. I did the giveaway on Facebook as well, and no one responded.
I made a free preset pack that everyone could use.

I paid for Mixbus out of my own pocket 2 years ago. I didn’t need to reach out to IK requesting for codes on the community.

If I wanted to hide anything, I would have claimed I used one for myself, and said there were only 2 codes.

Have you ever tried purchasing codes outside your country and use as a giveaway? It’s a logistical nightmare because the code only works for a specific country.

Pure innocent coincidence, sure, but be sure to bring receipts when stating a case. Here’s mine…

Weren’t there 3 MixBox winners announced in your promo? Presuming you use your 2020 purchase there are 4 copies of MixBox in total (yours plus 3 winners) but only two receipts? Something still doesn’t add up 🤔😏.

I didn’t enter the promo, I already have a copy of MixBox.

Can you take this to another thread please.

and we don't want this thread shut down.

    Thanks.

Sorry, I thought it was pertinent to the point about YouTubers and promo codes given away by developers. Nothing more to say by me on this.

IK gave 3 codes. I already bought Mixbus.

In the same thread you linked, I posted

    Congratulations to the Mixbox winners

    @SamSamSam
    @Gravitas
    @mrufino1

Those 3 people won the code. I bought my copy of Mixbus in 2020 and I’ve used it since then.

Why did this have to be a discussion topic here? There’s literally a thread about the code, and I’ve been visible with the winners. Reach out to confirm if they got the codes.

Yeesh, I haven’t seen any other iOS YouTuber getting this much scrutiny about an app code. And I have to deal with things like this every time I make a post.
