Music Tech Mondays - Music Industry Interview Series
Big news! In addition to keeping AudioKit a float, I’m thrilled to announce that I’m now an Associate Professor of Music & Arts Technology at Herron School of Art + Design! And guess what? They’ve put me in charge of curating an epic new speaker series called "Music Tech Mondays", for students and the general public to enjoy.
In a time when music education often gets sidelined, it feels amazing to offer something like this for Indiana students and the wider community. We pulled this whole thing together in about three weeks, with a budget of zero dollars.
I’m completely floored by the incredible support from industry pros who stepped up—simply because they wanted to give back.
Amazing people stepped up, including four Grammy winners, the legendary Roger Linn (you know, the guy who literally invented the digital drum machine and MPC), to folks from Arturia to Output and more. These folks aren’t doing it for money or recognition. They’re showing up because they truly care about supporting the next generation of creators.
Dr. Robin Cox, our new department head, even dubbed this “the best fall music tech speaker lineup” of any university in the U.S. And it’s all happening right here in Indiana.
If you're in the area, I’d love for you to stop by, spread the word, and join us for what’s shaping up to be an epic series of events!

Congrats on this Matt, it sounds really excellent. Roger Linn - brilliant. You won't record these and post on YouTube or anything? I'm sure there would be an audience for that, though maybe it's a hassle, or you prefer to do things more old school, keep it exclusive 😎
Good luck either way!
The goal is for these interviews to find their way to the internet. Sometimes in academia, things move a little slowerrrr
Eventually we want to live stream, maybe for the '25 series
