SynthScaper by Igor Vasiliev.

SynthScaper was one of the first apps I got when I first started this iPad “music” stuff. I haven’t touched it in a few years, so I fired it up. I think it was mostly intended for ambient soundscapes. This started out as trippy “head music”. Somewhere along the way I got the urge to throw some heavy metal chaos into the mix. Why? There is an old joke about something dogs can do… because they can!

Thanks… I think. I don’t know much about Mr. B. I have never bought anything on Amazon. Have a good one!

  • Glad to take this sonic adventure. If you care to share, what did you use for drums?

Hi Joel! If I recall, the drums were made up from several different layers. One of them was one of the default kits in Cubasis, with a lot of effects. I also layered in some loops from a Blocs Wave pack. In the middle around 1:35 I used some DrumJam sounds. Near the end I just piled on with everything I could find. I wanted a big explosion for the ending, but couldn’t find anything and dinner was ready, so I just settled for that cymbal sound. I like to render everything to audio and often lose track of the original source. I should probably keep notes in the track notepad, but… sometimes I forget. The original track was pure ambient sounds using SynthScaper, and I just started piling on stuff. I thought the light/heavy mix made for a fun contradiction. Looking forward to our project. Have a great day.
