How to install extension pack to Klevgrand Oneshot?

edited September 2024 in General App Discussion

How have people done this?

I followed the instructions in the manual. When I clicked the Jazz Extension Kit file in the Files app on my iPad, it did indeed open up to Oneshot.

However, I can't see where the Jazz Extension is now available. Are there new entries in the 'Jazz' preset category? I can't tell, it seems like all the entries there look familiar as part of the default Oneshot install.

Where should I be able to find the Jazz Extension? Did I do something wrong or leave out a step?

Here are the instructions I followed:

Installing extension packs (iOS only)
To install a OneShot extension, download it from klevgrand.com under your account, to your iOS
device. Open the file browser and click the extension file. This opens OneShot with the extension
installed.

  • It’ll be under a category “Jazz kit” on the left preset main folder selector menu

  • Thanks! I see it there now, at bottom of list right above 'User Presets' category. But I'm 99.9% certain it was not there the first couple times I looked. Maybe it took some time in background to process it? FWIW, I did not close and reopen Oneshot, though that was next step I was going to take. . . .

  • I just bought the jazz kit extension today. I have 2 iPads associated with my Apple ID. OneShot is installed on both and I only use one at any given time. The jazz kit installed fine on the first iPad, but tapping the file on the second iPad just opens OneShot and the jazz kit is absent.

I’m guessing the licence only allows use with the first iPad, but what happens if I buy a new iPad and want to move the jazz kit to that? There’s no way to “uninstall” the jazz kit to assign it to a different iPad. Klevgrand have a “helper” app for Windows & MacOS which does this, but I’m currently iPad only.

Anyone else had this issue? I’ve emailed Klevgrand with my query.

I have the Jazz and Unholy Drums packs installed on two iPads, so it is not limited.
The preset manager is a little finicky. Just fully close the app and start it again.
The pack should then show up. If not, try again.

    Yes :metal ::

I hope there are more metal heads

I’m about to start a thread for “Unholy Drums users” to see how many guys got what we finally got!!! For me I got my iPad in 2020 , sold it once I saw only IAA drums were my choices, and then got an iPad m1 in 2022 anticipating Logic would be out, and again it was sub so I still needed a drummer for Cubasis (meaning not Logics Anders or hard rock drums, and not just Lumbeat Rock DM) and unholy drums is what metal heads on iOS dreamed of, on par with all desktop (yes even XLN!) kits , but I particularly like the round robin choices and ofc the multitude of trigger settings that I prefer to the desktop counterparts should I decide to tweak the kits at all

Anyway how many unholy drummers are there ??!

Bought the Unholy Drums because it was on offer.
I usually only play the Triangle. 😏

Thanks for the confirmation @HarlekinX . I’ve already tried closing, restarting, and also doing a full reboot but still no good. As a last resort I’ll now try deleting OneShot from the second iPad and reinstalling it, otherwise hopefully Klevgrand can help me tomorrow. I’ll post an update if I get it resolved.

I NOW HAVE A WORKAROUND FOR THIS:-
Just in case this benefits anyone else in future, I had a lot of help from Klevgrand, and they’ve come up with this workaround…

If you open OneShot before attempting to install jazz-kit, and then tapping on the jazz-kit extension file, it should install correctly. It did for me (as of October 9, 2024). Klevgrand say a fix for the bug will be sent out soon. I must say I was very pleased with the response I had from Klevgrand. Well done to Daniel @ Klevgrand.
