  • Does this come with a ton of presets like AltiSpace?

  • Here is my video walkthrough for WoodVerberator, the advanced controls put this convolution reverb into another realm.
    Very Cool Beans me thinks.

  • @Slush not "tons" but it has lots of reverb types IR's so you can have a variety of options.

  • I have a very brief tweaking demo using the phase and amp modulation controls in this on YouTube Shorts, also on Insta and Twitter. There are giveaways on those platforms too, but the biggest giveaway with the best chances of winning is on Patreon as usual, with 3 people there able to win any Woodman ipad / iPhone app and even a chance to win any Woodman Mac plugin.

No, not at all. I think there are 24 IRs in the preset menu.

Does this one have an imbedded user manual? I don’t see one on the dev’s website.

Edit: Oops, spoke too soon: https://www.wimsstudio.com/docs/WoodVerberatorHelp.pdf

    Wow
This is gonna be daily reverb for me

  • I think I'm going to get this one. Very lush when it needs to be.

  • If you have or have had Logic on Mac installed ,Woodman recommends to look in: /Library/Audio/Impulse Responses/Apple/.
I don't use Logic on the Mac but I did the demo so it must have been installed with that, 1.4 Gb of IR's. Cool!

  • Way to go @woodman ! 👍 Really nice fully featured reverb at the quality and functionality we hav come to expect 👊

Yeah Gus, mad amount of options crammed in here in a well-thought-out UI. Can't think of a more full featured convolution reverb for iOS, on initial impressions at least

  • Sounds great with a full array of controls to fine tune things. The app on iPad isn’t able to load the .SDIR files from logic. They just show up greyed out in the finder. Maybe I’m just missing something. Everything Woodman puts out is top notch.

Very keen on this (yes I DO need another reverb mum!). But also keen to see if the Logic files will work with it. Anyone managed to get them working? I would assume they should if Woodman points to them as a viable source?

  • @Shiloh @Cambler : I tested this on Mac but not on iPad assuming it would be the same but I'll check it asap and let you know.

Thanks for looking into this. I know that wav files open fine. I haven’t checked any other formats.

    Bless your socks good sir!

  • @Shiloh @Cambler : it seemed to be a problem with the iOS FileChooser which indeed did not allow .SDIR files to be chosen. I did a quick fix by now allowing all file types. WoodVerberator v1.0.3 is submitted and you should see it coming in a day or so.

Fantastic! Thanks for looking into it.

  • And this is why woodman rules!

Plus the extra advanced features are so crazy , delays, LFOs and even de esser. It’s so much more than just the amazin reverb

You’re a gem! I bought it yesterday regardless and loving it. So this is cream on top of an already delicious cake :)

Update out here. Works like a charm loading .SDIR now. Thank you

  • Question for the IR gurus here… I have 3rd party IR files at 44.1k and 48k sample rates. Is it important to match the IR sample rate to the sample rate of the project or can they be freely mixed without degradation?

@woodman, the WoodVerberator is the first of your apps I’ve purchased and it’s exceptionally well done. Thanks.

  • @Schmotown : tnx ! and about samplerates : it is definitely not harmful but will have a slightly different colouring and timing. But as soon as you start tweaking (damping, etc) it will also have a different colouring. Only if you really want the reverb to sound exactly like it was recorded in the room/hall/etc than you can match/resample the IR file

Great, thanks. Also, is it possible to import folders of IRs rather than importing and saving them individually?

@Schmotown : good question, I'll add a comment in the manual, yes it is possible : in the Files App navigate to iCloud Drive and find the WoodVerberator folder. In there find (or create) the folder "samples". Anything (files or folders) you copy in there will appear.

    Perfect! Thanks again.

  • Brilliant app @woodman - I got WoodValvet a bit ago and it's also brilliant. I hadn't yet invested in a nice reverb yet (so many, decisions led to paralysis lol) and I'm happy to have waited and be rewarded by this great app. Cheers!

Damn! I got like 21MB of IR's in the same folder and did a trial. I didn't mess with it much so maybe I didn't download packs or instruments that would add more? Hard to find info last night but I'm going to check again.

  • @offbrands : I am not 100% sure but I expect that the free downloadable Garageband also comes with those IR files.

I'll see if I can sort it out. Might be nice for this thread to have people post IR's they find online!

A nice little tutorial for anyone curious on a Mac - https://guitargear.org/2019/02/18/how-to-set-up-and-use-impulse-responses-in-garageband/
