Can Cubasis Overdub?

When I record on a track (midi) I’ve already recorded on, it creates a new take on top of the old one, and although they play together they must be edited separately. Is it possible to overdub onto the track, rather than creating a new layered take? And is it possible to do a retake, so’s the new take erases the old one? Or do you just have to erase the old one first?

You can join / glue them into one take afterwards. Activate the “select” tool, draw a rectangle above both takes and glue them. Both takes should be merged into a single one.

  • Ah, brilliant, thanks! I couldn’t get this to work before cause I was only highlighting the top take. I thought I’d tried the select tool, but obviously not! Thanks again!
