Comments

  • Interesting...

  • Sampler or sample player, i.e. a platform for selling preset packs?

  • Some of the sound packs sound lovely to me. Very interested.

  • Looks like it’s maybe taken inspiration from Native Instruments’ Playbox. Even the graphics behind Voxmotive looks a lot like the Playbox aesthetic.
Curious to see what this is

  • Seems a bit similar to Soundpaint (https://soundpaint.com/) - haven't dived in too deep but the basic idea seems to be the same. Soundpaint doesn't have an iPad version but the engine is a free download and there's a few free (and pretty good) instruments available.

  • @Philandering_Bastard You can import you own samples, very easy to build custom patches.

  • Damn, this looks super cool

  • Can the UI/Fonts be scaled?!
From what I've seen so far it looks like another app suffering from a severe case of MFS (Microscopic Font Syndrome).

No doubt it will find it's users but I won't be one of them...

    Dankeschön

  • I have almost all the AudioModern stuff and I love them but rarely use them outside of generative ambient.

  • They sound creepy as hell. Just in time for Halloween?

I use a sax from Soundpaint and it’s quite nice. Having said that, I always try to use non-sample based instruments first, but sometimes one simply must go back to the well to get a very particular sound.

  • Output is the first that strike me, seeing the interface. You know, the company with Substance, Exhale, Movement and Portal to name a few. They also have the Output Arcade which looks a lot like this stuff above. I haven't tried Output Arcade yet but I have been close as it's free for a month I think.

Anyway, this is going to be cool on iOS, for sure.

  • There are already a number of soundboards and sound effects apps on iPadOS and iOS with the same name. That’s a bit of a marketing challenge.

  • Christ he thinks he’s a marketing expert now too 🤣

Personally happy to see more professional level software coming to iOS. This looks right up there with the high standards Audiomodern set themselves

  • Im sure this things awesome but i never have any luck with these types of instruments 🤣 seems like a lot of work to get sketch results but that’s on me and my skill level. Might try it down the line

The name Soundbox seemed very generic to me and I performed a simple search on the App Store. When there are multiple apps with the same name, it makes finding that app more challenging. So, what was the point of your comment?

  • There’s nothing like this on iOS is there? This seems almost like a break through if the ports right

Just downloaded a tried out the Voxmotive pack one thing I would say is the Pack size is 3.7 GB so this app like Xinematix will soon fill up your iPad if you buy lots of packs like any sampler instrument. Their servers today seem slow aswell.

If you buy a desktop pack now if you are on desktop it should work in the iOS version once it’s out so a good way to try out early.

The sampler engine layers and controls effects, modulation, etc are pretty deep especially for a iOS release.

The other thing is I had 2 crashes with my own sample layers plus the Vocal pack using it in the latest Ableton Live 12.1 beta maybe it’s Ableton not sure. Also one crash in Cubase Pro 13 hope they can fix the current version report sent in.

Edit the support team are aware of a Mac issue and sorting it.

  • The demo video I watched seemed similar to the Wavestate. Anybody know how the feature set compares with EvolverFX, or am I completely off base?

  • Just for info this is from the official Audio Modern forums from one of the team.

Soundbox is our platform for all of our playable Instruments. We have a few new libraries coming up in various genres and styles. We have some loop-based too, which means that a time-stretching algorithm, similar to our Loopmix app, will be included soon.

Our first Free Soundbox Instrument will be released in November, more will follow.

You won’t have to pay twice for an Instrument that you purchased. The iPad version will allow you to import Instruments that are purchased from our site or resellers. Same as with our other apps, our format works across any device. If you want to purchase an Instrument from the App Store you will be able to do that as well via IAP.
