The Audiobus Forum is now the Loopy Pro Forum!

In case you didn't see the announcement thread, I have some big news: Audiobus – the app – is going to a new home. Francesco and Andrea are developers and musicians who are keen to pursue Audiobus’ further potential, keep it updated and enhance the experience for users old and new – and unlike me, they have the resources to do so! They’re full of ideas and energy, and I am confident that Audiobus will be in good hands.

The Audiobus Forum, however, is staying right here with me. After some consultation with the community here about what to do, I've decided to rename it to the Loopy Pro Forum, at forum.loopypro.com.

It has a new name and new colours, but otherwise, it's the same place, and nothing else will change.

Cheers,
Michael

Behringer UMC1820 multitrack?

Does anyone here know if all the inputs on the Behringer UMC1820 audio interface show up as independent sources in the host DAW? Or is it just a big summer?

Is there a better option? This looks like something I want (I have a few desktops I need to record simultaneously) and it's a great price, but I welcome suggestions.

  • Yes they are individual channels or stereo pairs if you wish, and individual outputs.

I had one of these when they first came out, probably not what you wanna hear but it sounds like mud.
Also, on my one several of the pots went scratchy only after a few months.

it's very cheap and has many I/O but its trash.

  • I love mine, one man’s garbage is another man’s treasure apparently 🤣

well, it sounds like rich thick mud to me. I agree it's useful with all the I/O if you don't mind the mud all over my windows sound.

I don't mind wattle and daub with a touch of eq. ;)

  • I love mine. No mud 🤣. I’ve also learned to appreciate the flexible audio outs for hardware sampling and effects chains without having to re-cable setups 😋

I also got the ADA8000 for extra inputs and the Expert Sleepers ES8 for euroack modulation
so I have mine connected up to my hybrid modular gear and my external drum machines.
For sampling it's super flexible. ;)
