iZotope Aurora

Has anyone tried it yet?

Seems like the few videos I have seen on it show how it EQ’s a reverb to fit the sound that is effected. Seems OK, but the videos don’t go deep enough to give a really good impression of what is going on.

  • It’s obvious, NI is milking Exponential Audio assets. Neoverb is a better investment for anyone interested in cheap versions of EA algorithms. 🤦‍♂️

Well they were going to anyway, and they already threw out some of the range to limit it.

I got an email offering it for $39 so I pulled the trigger. Definitely very useful to get a good clear vocal sound with some tweaking - I was a little skeptical of some of the claims, but it’s actually pretty good.

  • I don’t give money to izotope anymore. The only time I might is if rx9 stops working, but I also have the acon digital tools which can do many things in a close manner to izotope.

In general I don’t, and also have RX9 which is extremely useful (although there are definitely more options now that fill the same function).

This one just caught me as it does something different from just EQ the wet signal, and pulls some frequencies out of the dry signal based on the wet signal. It allows me to push the wet signal more without the mix sounding over-processed.
