Using polythemus with BM3, all notes triggering simultaneously
Hi guys. Wondering if anyone has used this app to with beatmaker 3? I'm trying to make Digitakt polyphonic. I’m having difficulties getting it to work using BM3 as a host DAW. No matter what channel configuration I set on Digitakt, beatmaker, and Polythemus, it just triggers all 8 tracks/voices simultaneously when I press any single keys. Not sure what I'm missing. I added polythemus as a midi plugin on a beatmaker track, all Digitakt tracks I want to control are set to channel 11 and same in polythemus, the BM3 track's midi channel is also set to 11. Are there additional settings to change in BM3?
Thanks in advance

Do you have AUM?
I don’t use any of the above mentioned apps and don’t have a digitakt but from a logic POV if you have every track on the digitakt set to the same channel then of course they’ll all play all the same notes. If I send a note on midi channel 11 then every device on the midi network that is set to channel 11 will play that note.
I would have thought the only way to make a multitimbral monophonic synth appear polyphonic would be to play each note on a separate midi channel?
I’ll bet you my custard cream you need to set the digitakt tracks to separate midi channels. There must be a way in ployhemeus to tell it which channels to send to the digitakt.
Polythemus has 8 outputs , 1 for each note. By default that they are all on channel 1 but if you press at the bottom of the screen where it says Volume it changes to allowing you to set each of the 8 outputs to whatever channel you want…
Thanks for the tips, but I've also tried setting each track to its own different channel, in which case I have to set the beatmaker track channel to "All" and it still does it instead of playing the tracks round robin
I don't, I'd prefer to use beatmaker as a host but if there's no way to make it work there I'll settle for aum.
Does anyone have any idea how to get this to work? There's a guide on how it's done in AUM but I don't have it and I need to host it in either logic pro or BM3. I just tried logic but for some reason when "external instrument" is set to "All" channels it only sends notes to track 1 on Digitakt
I tried to reach the developer via the support email address but my emails bounce back
The 'all' in this case means all incoming notes and channels from the sequencer or midi-inputs are passed thru.
When you select a bunch of notes in for example the piano-roll you can in the inspector set the midi-channel for the selected notes.
If you know that you're going to send notes for example on midi-channel 2 draw one note and set it's midi-channel to 2 for that note in the inspector and all the notes added after that will send on midi-channel 2 until you change it. (This also works if you use an external midi-controller to record, set the midi-channel on the controller and all note events will be sent in the chosen channel).
Ah, I understand now. Thank you for the help!
