Behringer VCS3 update. Good news.
We’d like to give you some exciting update about our VCS3.
In our previous update we shared our mechanical challenges with the pin matrix, which have now been resolved. We’re very pleased to report that it has passed a stringent 100,000 lifecycle test.
We’re now shipping units to our beta testers for final testing and comparison with the original synthesizer. Once passed, we will start manufacturing.
We know this synth has taken much longer than we thought, but we’re sure the wait is worth it.
Thanks for all your patience and support:-)

Isn’t that what they said word-for-word over a year ago?
Yes. Here it is, October 13th 2023:

What are the chances of making your new pin matrix transparent? I consider that it’d be a valuable thing to be able to see the connecting buses inside (and also see if there’s dust or hair or corrosion inside as time goes on)
I really do hope they manage to get a spring reverb in there or a really good digital emulation.
...and this would need to be a really really good one. This weekend I had a chance to play an original VCS3, and one thing that impressed me was the superb sound from the built in spring reverb.
Yes. It’s an integral part of its unique sound. Lucky you for having a chance to play a real one. Must have been amazing.
So, in essence, this post isn't a new update from Behringer?
Looks like it.
It was. The University of Huddersfield brought two of them to SynthFest in Sheffield. They own the machines since their music department bought them in the seventies and kept them running. Both synths could be played by the visitors. From the distance the two VCS3s with their patch matrices made it look as if two people were playing "Battleships". And most of the sounds people created, myself included, would have made a great soundscape for that game.
