Analog(ish) Step Sequencer - with Pitch Shifting (Other Than RoxSyn)

Hi,
Does anyone know of a plugin that offers an analog step sequencer - other than RoxSyn? So, for example, you could play a C1 note on your guitar and set up the pattern or sequence, and it will take the starting note and play additional notes of a different pitch based on the sequence you make. Like an arpeggio or whatever additional notes/sequence you set up.

There are quite a few MIDI note sequencers, but I'm looking for something that can take the note from a guitar (without converting it to MIDI), and then process it. There's a sequencer in RoxSyn - but I was wondering if anyone knew of any other plugins.

Thanks!
AJ

You can kind of do that sort of thing with a delay that lets you program pitches for each delay tap. Logic’s delay designer for example. You can set the relative pitch of each tap along with the timing to make rhythmic and pitched patterns.

You can basically make an audio arpeggiator with it.

I don’t know what they were thinking with the UI though. The UI to the Mac version is far clearer and actually makes sense.

TBH I think the UIs to some of the original Mac plugins are so old they need major surgery and Apple just never got around to fixing them. It’s probably a ton of work to rewrite each plugin.

So we’re left with the blandest least helpful UIs they could get away with lol

It’s a fantastic plugin for this kind of thing though :)

What @klownshed suggested can be done in Drambo as well. The Feedback of the different delays can be used for additional notes. And additional Delay/Pitchshifter duos can be added if you want more notes:

  • @catherder Thank you very much. I can see that each group of 2 rack slots (for lack of a better word) shifts the pitch of the delayed sound, and then you'd adjust the mix at the end.
