The music of moth wings
Polythemus was mentioned a few days ago so I dusted it off and came up with this…
SWAM Viola and Violin played with GeoShred.
Backing provided by Korg Module Choirs, Roli Noise Strings and Horns, XinematiX, ThumbJam Cello, Speldosa and Cantoria.
These are all played by Piano Motifs passed through Polythemus with its Voice Allocation parameter being randomised by Rozeta LFO.
Comments
An incredibly clever use of Polythemus using the randomization on Voice Allocation with Rozeta LFO. To be honest it doesn’t sound random at all but very deliberate and very enjoyable.
I do wish I had more space on my iPad every time I hear Xinematix. Speldosa sounds great here too. Lots of great sounds that sound great together.
Definitely a random element @MadeofWax , a third of the time no sounds were produced at all. Another third just had stuck notes. This was in the third that actually produced something musical 😊
Thanks for the listen and comment 👍
My oh my, this is beautiful.
And kudos on coming up with the perfect title!
Thanks @rottencat . I can’t claim any credit for the title other than finding it.
It’s a phrase from a book by a wonderful illustrator / artist / author called Jackie Morris.
I’m bumping this. It deserves better.
Good call cat! I had missed it, so, nice track T!
Poignant and patient with lovely sounds
Wow thanks @rottencat , very kind of you 🙏
Cheers @Pxlhg and @myapologies for taking the time 👍
Very amtospheric. Sounds church like in places, fully expect the choir to break out!
I have no idea how you make most of your music Tony, but you have such taste and skill in producing these gorgeous soundscapes. Understated, genuinely moving music
Very relaxing, Tony. Good way to start the weekend. Bottom’s up, bro.
The viola and violin part is fantastic, I like the piece. Thank you for sharing. 🫶
Thank you @klownshed , @BillS , @LinearLineman and @Luxthor 🙏
It’s funny Bill because I have no idea how many others including you make your music 😊
My process seems very simple and crude when I see videos of other workflows.
I guess it’s basically down to what your used to !
Interesting Tony - I'm in a phase of how a traditional band would record - an acoustic drum track, playing real guitars and piano/keys, and singing. I have a lot of toys (iOS and desktop) that I'm not using right now.
Tony this is very pretty. Long one again huh, going on sojourns - (not to detract from the sonic elements but if you look at the wave form on SoundCloud it looks like a moth “without wings”)…Calm and soothing, nice 👍
