Autumnal Raga

Apologies to anybody who knows what a real Raga should sound like but it’s my best shot at the moment 😊
Lots of apps, Indian Drummer, Naada Bansuri, Naada Viola, Gong Lead through lots of effects.
All done in one take in AUM and amazingly (for me) my first attempt 🤔

Comments

  • Sounds great. Is it hard to keep track of a song of such length in AUM (and do you export to like a daw to mix/master? Idk if I ever asked)…anyway great sounds for autumn

  • Thanks @yellow_eyez . I do everything in AUM.
I’ve never used anything else and for what I do it seems to work fine. Plus I can’t be arsed learning a new DAW 😊
Most of the time, including this one, I just mix the instruments into the track manually so it’s all done ‘live’ including playing the three leads which were played realtime using three instances of GeoShred.

  • Here’s a video showing ( a slightly different version of ) the track being created…

  • Nicely atmospheric -- The Indian percussion sounds great.

  • Listening to this piece is like when you climb to that spiritual mountaintop and there find your inner peace. (not “dinner please” 😉) Keep them coming! 🤩

  • This is gorgeous. I like the burst of notes starting at 8:48. And it is amazing to me that you nailed this in one take

  • Cheers @klownshed , @Luxthor and @myapologies .
I’m very happy with how this one turned out, everything just seemed to go right !

  • Great 'raga' Tony, what a mesmerising sounds, top notch!!! frenq

  • Great and unexpected at 6:00 and going forward. Well done. Maybe @Wrlds2ndBstGeoshredr will weigh in on its raganess. I think he”s our resident expert in microtonality and such. One of your best and worth the 11 minutes.

  • Sitting out on my patio on a crisp autumn morning. Sipping my first cup of strong dark coffee, listening to the lovely sounds. A great way to start the weekend. Really nice one, bro.

Many thanks for the tag. Lovely track. Who cares about theory if it sounds good?

What is the plucked sound in the first minute or two?

  • Thanks @Frenq , @LinearLineman , @Paulieworld and @Wrlds2ndBstGeoshredr .
It's one of the tracks that I've done recently that I'm most pleased with.
It the Naada Sitar @Wrlds2ndBstGeoshredr , put through Spirangle.
