Misinformation
It’s raining misinformation. A constant background deluge of ambient textures from King Of Digital, featuring presets by Brice Beasley, Haq Attack, and Red Sky Lullaby. All played by Piano Motifs. Overlaid with assorted noise from Riffler, Launchpad, Thumbjam, DrumJam, Nambu, Mitosynth, and many others that I just picked at random without much thought. The default setting of Other Desert Cities is a great effect that I used way more than I should have, but it seemed appropriate. Musical word salad. Like the strange dream I had last night, it doesn’t make sense. Maybe I should call the government and ask them to explain it to me.

A transition from the sounds of rain and gentle music to the more bombastic groove and guitars into a more melodic element complete with industrial noise followed by killer bass riffing and back to a gentle rain all while making it seamless is an amazing feat. You make it sound easy and so, so very good.
There once was the Watergate with Nixon. Let's hope there will be the Pauliegate with Trump 🤣
A bit random it maybe but the cacophony remains musical and coherent throughout. That’s no accident! I’m quite sure if I threw things together in the way you say you do, the results would be unlistenable.
@MadeofWax @BillS Thank you gentlemen. I've played in many different bands since my early 20s. Every one was a specific type of band. One band played Ukrainian folk music, and polkas! That was actually quite a bit of fun. There was a small jazz ensemble that played regularly at a little pizza place. The owner was a jazz lover. A little R & B group in college. A blues band. I almost joined a punk band! My last two bands were tributes. One played Pink Floyd exclusively. The other played only Fleetwood Mac. In every case I was expected to play a specific type of music. Everything was democratically selected. I had no problem with that. I just enjoyed playing for an audience. A little folding money afterward was always nice.
I stopped playing in 2004 and didn't get back into it until my wife told me about individuals who were making music independently with iPads. I'm no longer required to play specific music, so I tend to get a bit weird at times because I can get away with it. I still can't believe I can "publish" my stuff and people all over the world can listen if they want to. If I go off the deep end sometimes, I hope you will just think... there he goes again.
Peace!
Let's hope they all get what they deserve.
Under International Law, most of the legislators and law makers in the USA could be held accountable for complicity in war crimes.
Guys, I think we know at this point -
political/religious/“intimately personal” discussions or commentaries are not something we want to see turn into negative exchanges (as a few threads lately have been veering into that domain) so as not to offend anyone, whether engaging or just reading thread.
We ofc want freedom of expression, especially through your musical creations (like Paulies songs title suggests) but this is not the forum to expound on political rhetoric or debate…so please, let’s just enjoy the music and be respectful of all peoples’ “personal preferences.”
@Paulieworld very cool song….i like the hard rock element a lot. Nice drums too. All Drumjam ???
The drums are a mix of several different things. I think I also used some of the default Cubasis kit sounds with a lot of external effects. When I find something I like, I usually render it to audio and delete or mute the MIDI. Old habit from DOS days when CPU power was an issue. I often come back and try something different later, and frequently replace the original, so I tend to lose track of what I did. I think I may have also used some loops from Launchpad or Blocs Wave. Like I mentioned above, I am no longer answering to a group, so I just make it up as I go. I like that aspect of it. There is nothing worth watching on TV, so I would rather spend my time doing this stuff. Thanks for listening.
Careful with such titles, Paul. The ambient police are always watching. Music without context. That’s what they crave 🤫🤪🫡
Nice track, bud. Do you sing?
@LinearLineman I chose Misinformation rather than Disinformation, because Misinformation is a little less offensive and implies that the speaker just doesn't know any better.
Yes, I sang a long time ago. Ironically, one of the times was in a Ukrainian band. I didn't speak the language so I learned the parts phonetically. I recall getting a few strange looks. I sometimes wonder how it translated. Nobody punched me so it must not have been too bad. I have thought about hooking up a mic to my iPad. Maybe some day.
You’ve got some terrific tones and textures in this one, @Paulieworld. A couple of moments even reminded me of the “Ghost In The Machine” album by The Police. 👍
Thank you! That was a great album. I will always remember when I saw the Police right at the start of their career. They played at NIU, and as I recall, they drove a station wagon with a trailer for their gear. It was a very good show. They certainly came a long way!
This one was a strange and enjoyable journey. I agree with MadeofWax. Nice track
Thank you my friend. Have a peaceful and prosperous week.
Some great sounds and rhythms on this one… very nice 👌
