Combining Patterning 3 and Fac Drumkit in AUM

Hey so I’m in love with both and they’re both missing something from each other. Basically I’d love to be mainly on Patterning 3 but having the advantage of the beautiful Adsr envelope and the Osc of Fac Drumkit.
Obviously I can control FAC with Patterning but then I lose the steps settings like changing pitch on each step and also envelope changes on steps too.

Is there a way to marry them better ?

Otherwise I’d settle with having access to a good adsr out of each Patterning3 outputs at the very least because ahd doesn’t do it for me.

  • @Boosire Hmm, for a test i added Patterning into AUMs midi node and then configured the Bassdrum to only send Midi on CH1. On the layers tab of the Bassdrum i the got several layers for the midi output:

Using StreamByter as a midi monitor, i verified that velocity and midi note transpose affect the note output on ch1. The midi pitchbend of a step is also send. Ratchet count and ratchet decay also affect the midi note generation (multiple notes getting louder or quieter). When using several drums, you need to configure a different channel for each of them

To drive AUv3 parameters of an audio generating drum plugin, one could remap the pitchbend of a channel to a CC value and since most drum plugins trigger their slots with a specific note only, one could also remap the note difference of the transpose to another CC.

I checked FACs Drumkits AUv3 parameters, one can‘ change the envelop nor the main pitch ;-( The pitch ratio of osc2 and the filter freqs of voice modules are available, but‘s not what i was hoping for.

TLDR: Remapping of p-locked Patterning midi parameters to CC via a midi script is possible, but not changing of FACs Drumkits voice envelopes or pitch

I would add that you can also send CCs in Patterning. Tap the + button on the layers page to add a layer for the CCs you want.

  • @benkamen Oh, supercool 👍🏼 i didn‘t notice that.

There really no need for a pitch bend/note pitch to CC script if Patterning offers addional layers for CCs. One can just add serveral CC layers and then map these to parameters of other sounds modules, nice :)
