Delay App that can kick in when amplitude/volume is reached

Maybe you have seen this. I'm looking for a delay that can bring in repeats only when a certain amplitude or volume level is hit.

I've seen that the Bleass Dragonfly can do this for tremolo. But I would love to have this for delay.

Any ideas?

If you insert a delay on a bus and put a gate before it, you can then set the threshold of the gate accordingly and the delay will only apply to anything above that threshold. You can also tweak the amount you send to the delay buss to fine tune, if you automate the send level you can adjust when and where certain levels trigger the delay.

Might be worth experimenting with Other Desert Cities. It has an envelope follower you could map to the dry/wet mix.

You can use an envelope follower such as FAC Envolver or the one in Drambo to do this sort of thing…and if you combine it with. Mozaic or Streambyter, you can do some pretty interesting things.

I'm not familiar with envelope followers - I have Other Desert Cities. I guess I need to study this.
I know how ducking works (kinda) - so I'm assuming envelope followers are duckers? Lots to learn.

FAC Envolver sounds interesting, thank you. I'm going to avoid Drambo for now - I don't have the time to do deep diving. I'm using Loopy Pro - so I could use the the bus features in that.
I guess I was hoping for an app that already has this feature mapped out for me. I will explore envelope following. I think I need to go back to the basics of what an envelope means in different applications, then build up my knowledge from there.

Really? I would not have guessed that - just reading the description of the app. I remember when it came out - it seemed like a kind of automatic scattering looper to me. I'm curious now.

@tubespace : an envelope follower can send a control signal (in this case midi cc) proportional to the amplitude (volume) of a signal. Envolver also can act as a gate.
