Sample packs for Koala?
Hey all,
I'm hoping the forum name change will grant this request some grace and come off less like a 'skanky freebie grab '. 😆🤦🏻
....
I'm on topic! -since this is now called Loopy forum!
Basically, Koala..
Recently started finally messing with samples as a break from learning piano...
3yrs ago I downloaded/ copied about 1gb of sounds out of a Logic (desktop Mac install).. stashed em away for later.
Tried them last night, found them to be loops not just samples 🤙🏻
-went to chuck em upon the Koala pads, not ideal!
I'm just after samples tbh.
I checked Koalas stock (bundled) drumkit sounds -found them a bit crap to be honest. Shrill, lectronic cymbals (things like that).
Ok so (to help me get started) -
anyone know a good place for great samples? (One hits)
Ideally looking for packs of course (personal use so not worried if they're 'hot water' (rights-wise)
Thanks!
(Ps if anyone's about to suggest Logic (iOS), I don't have it, and currently not in a position to buy a subscription).
oo, just thought, does GarageBand have any one-hits I can use? (I know it has a boatload of loops)..

The sample packs 3, 4, 6, 7, 8 + 9 on this website contain ready-made Koala banks with drums, all for free.

These are some free sound packs I made for the op-1 field but I’m sure you can load them up into Koala

I second @DMTcymatics gumroad I’ll definitely be checking out @colorsinspace though but DMT has these world sample packs that are just amazing for all aspects needed in any song.
If you make anything electronic I really like Wave Alchemy for drum samples (they've got melodic stuff in the form of loops too which you can chop up). They sampled tons of hardware and processed it with quality gear, very usable stuff. They have free samples from every paid sample pack they release. If you download them all and categorize them by sample type you've got yourself a 4 gig sample pack
