Rest In Peace Ian Douglas Throgmorton
Ian Douglas Throgmorton, 58, of Rock Hill, SC, passed away on October 10, 2024. Born on September 28, 1966, in Quantico, VA, Doug was a talented musician known for his passion for playing drums, which he did for many bands throughout his musical career; most notably, Bedlam Hour, Antiseen, Jeff Clayton and the Slimegoats, Judas Bullethead and GG Allin, and Spanish Tonys.
Doug was a founding member of the scum rock genre with his work with Antiseen, survived recording and touring with GG Allin (DeeDee Ramone could only hang for a week as a Murder Junkie), but was also the most gentle soul I have ever met.
Doug was a dedicated musician with uncanny intuition and precision. Numerous players have said “You know, I will never play with a musician as good as Doug ever again” because it’s true.
I’ve attached a lovely ballad and a torch song that were graced by Doug’s presence.
The world is a lesser place without brother, son, friend, animal lover, calculus buff, deadpan wit, founder of the Roadhouse movie cult, genius Ian Douglas Throgmorton.
Comments
I live half-way between Charlotte and Rock Hill, and Antiseen are legends to people in this area who are in the know (I.e. a very small number of people).
He was younger than me too…
Love the music. I'm saddened to hear of Doug's passing.
