    ^ that's a pretty epic facepalm.

Assuming they could make this work with Audioshare I'm curious as to why they would reinvent the wheel. They should just hire Kymatica. lol.

you design an app to carry samples for a device when you're away from your computer, but you tie it to software on the computer? whut?

  • At least you can record directly into it. Was there no mention of audiocopy?

  • Much as I love iOS as a musical tool, I'm not inclined to buy much hardware that relies on an app that heavily. Hopefully someone comes out with a way to load samples in it shortly that does not require some proprietary iOS software that Korg will have to maintain for years.

  • +1 at 'just use Audioshare'. Though I can understand Korg wanting to manage the user experience and have it be a free app which Audioshare isn't. Still, better ways to get audio into it just seems so obvious.

Since it's encoded via audio (love that they used that in the video) I give this effort approximately one month until there are desktop and android hacks for it. Maybe IAP for audioshare? :)

  • If the only way to get audio into this korg app is iTunes or live recording I won't ever get a Volca Sample.. Way to kill an awesome bit of hardware :(

  • Hopefully you can load samples directly with iFunbox.
