I've started putting a few pieces on Soundcloud....have to admit I'm very nervous of how folks will react but here are a couple...

Never be nervous about what others think. Everyone has an opinion and no one's opinion should ever prevent you from doing what you want.

And for the record, I liked it. Keep going.

Yes, don’t worry about posting, been there, done that lol - it’s really worth it!

I found them both interesting and enjoyed listening to them. The only constructive criticism I would make is that the first track has a sound that came in about just gone the half way mark that I found to be too loud compared to the rest of the mix and was a little uncomfortable to myself anyway.

Keep making music and posting. Only just managed to start posting finished tracks myself, although I have been posting unfinished tracks for a few years lol. The tracks both show that you have some cool ideas and definitely worth posting for others to enjoy :)

Couldn’t have said it any better. Well done on the musical piece. It takes a lot of courage to release work.

And it’s different vibe from what I listen to, but that’s not a bad thing. People describe things based on their experiences

Too Late - It’s a calm melodic piece that takes a while to build up. But the stats show this…in your next release, the viewership number doubles. It’s not a bad thing, just something to note. A lot of people check out the first 10 seconds, so to get the to listen for 30 seconds, your first 10 seconds should keep them interested.

Clarity - Mixes tropical chimes, with sounds of a rainforest. This would be perfect on a rainy day. And it’s a great vibe.

    Overall, well done.

  • Thanks guys - I really appreciate you taking the time to listen and comment...

  • Cool stuff. Keep posting! Finishing music can be addictive — and uploading is a great way to draw a line under it and consider it officially ‘finished’.

  • Thanks for posting these and well done. Be proud and keep going 🙏🏽

  • That first song is worth a like and subscribe all on it's own. Great vibe on both of these. Sound production is clear and polished. Definitely keep it up.

  • Some lovely sounds and vibes Nige, kudos and congrats on taking the plunge! ABF (oops, LPF) can be scary at times, indeed 🤣, but the Creations section is probably the friendliest section of the forum, so nothing to worry about!

  • @enkaytee keep doing you, this is a whole lotta pleasant to listen to.

  • Nice and chilled, I slightly preferred the second one it had a speeded up Merry Xmas mr Lawrence vibe.

As long as you like it, it doesn’t matter what others think. It’s always nice when someone else gets it and enjoys it of course, and if you don’t put it out there then you don’t give anybody the chance to like it. 🙂

  • Don’t ever worry about other people’s opinions - do it for you rather than try to please others. I like these, particularly the second one. Keep posting what you do!

Thanks again - I've learnt a hell of a lot from the forum and some of the amazing musicians here. I'm definitely going to keep on creating and posting...👍

  • When you get an album together consider posting on BandCamp. Costs nothing unless folks buy your stuff. SoundCloud has space limits, BandCamp doesn’t.

Nothing to be nervous about here. We’re all in the same boat, trying to do our best and having some fun.
I liked the first piece better. The second lost some of the chill you seem to be very good at. Now that you’ve broken the sound barrier just keep going, learning, exploring. Push the envelope. Finding one’s original musical self is the most important thing for me. If I can listen to what I do and like it after several plays I’m satisfied. You’re your most important audience.

lol, maybe ABF had to bite the dust and LPF debut for you to start posting. Out with the old (hey, that's me 🤔) in with the new! Keep posting, bro.

  • Liked them both, the first a bit more than the second.
As others have said, we’ve all been there, the only thing that matters is what you think… don’t anguish over it, just enjoy it 🙏

  • Thanks for sharing. They sound great.

  • These are chill man really dig em. Especially the first track.

  • Both sound good. Nice calming sounds in the second piece. Good work.

  • Sorry I missed this the first time around. I liked Clarity Lights the most. I’m hearing some Talking Heads spoken vocals over the top. I am probably showing my age! Keep posting and, most of all, have fun. This internet stuff is great. 30 years ago, this would have cost a fortune to record in a conventional studio. Nowadays we can publish our music for less than I spent for lunch today. You are in the right place. Peace bro.

  • Well done. Be proud you shared em, that in and of itself is a major accomplishment and should be celebrated and acknowledged.

To achieve pushing past those self imposed judgement limitations people often put themselves through is something to be super proud of.

The internet can be unforgiving and sharing something you’ve created is one of the most vulnerable things a person can do. Many never take that risk.

For what it’s worth I enjoyed them as well. Keep going!

  • These are great - enjoyed the second one especially. You have a unique sound that's hard to categorise, and that's a good thing! :) Also to echo what others have said - be yourself, do your thing, and bring your unique voice to the world!
