New barebones wind controller from Artinoise

edited October 29 in Hardware

I see Artinoise is starting a Kickstarter project with what seems to be a very barebones wind controller.

Artinoise has previously produced the Re.corder wind controller device.

This new device looks to be just a small mouthpiece that plugs directly into an iPad's USB port. [EDIT: actually, it shows a phone so maybe it's connecting to an Android device in the picture; there aren't any iPhones with usb-c yet, are there?]. Not sure how durable the port is, but I suppose you could use a cable so there's little pressure on the port. Also, I assume this should be a fairly inexpensive device.

  • I would worry about getting spit in my charge port...

  • So it's not even live? That's like requiring patience from people to even make a preorder... For a product that could be many months far away from release. If it will turn out good, I buy it then 😎

  • Nice idea but I do not like the form. You need to be able to see the screen to play it, because there is no tactile feedback to tell you what key you are touching. I could not play this thing except with very limited chops.

I have the same problem with melodicas and have to use a hose to play them--but at least you have tactile feedback on a melodica.
