Creating a preset switching system that allows for reverb/delay tails when switching.

In my application, I am doing a plain dry-ish guitar on One track and a wet lead sound on a second track. They are both fed by the same channel from my interface. Right now I am switching presets by using audio source mutes/unmutes. When switching back from the wet preset it sounds so abrupt and would like for the tails to continue. Any advice?

Thanks so much.

Have you tried turning in the record tail option?

  • If the issue isn’t switching between loops, you could put a ramp on the muting of the channel.

Depending on the situation, you could put the effects post-fader or put them on a bus so that muting the source doesn’t mute the effect.

  • Oh thats the ticket!!! Thanks Espiegel. Its not needing to be caught in the loops but i should also check out tails for loops too. This is more of a live sound thing. Thanks for the advice. The pre/post fader advice is the next exploration. CHEERS :)
