Best ios app for 2D motion graphics?

hi audiobus community!

i was wandering if anyone knows (or could point me to an online community who would know) the best ios software to essentially take scanned images, crop them, and then have them spin around or move.

i know lots of people use procreate but i’ve heard that it’s not so intuitive for what im trying to do. i’m not trying to animate at all but more or less make moving collages out of scanned images.

any help would be much appreciated!

thanks!

  • This might sound a bit stupid, but you can do move/rotate with build in / build out / action in Keynote and export the presentation as movie / gif. At least on a laptop, this is quite workable.

Callipeg (subscription but comprehensive animation), ToonSquid (NOT sub and a little less interface heavy than calipeg). You also might want to look into LumaFusion or daVinci since they have timelines, keyframes, and translation abilities and can serve as “animation” programs. Basic image cropping you can do in photos or an app like superimpose x etc.

Calipeg is not only available as a subscription; it can also be purchased.

Yeah, now that it’s completely free, Fresco’s a very good place to start.
