As someone who played several types of mallet percussion instruments in high school and then guitar in a bar band later this is right in my wheelhouse. I like the way the mallet changes the attack sound. Appreciate the link to the article too.
My Life In The Bush Of Ghosts might still be my personal favorite album of all time. I think may be the main impetus for doing my own music.
