JWM - El Toro (Electro House produced in Korg Gadget 3)

As said in the thread title, I used Korg Gadget 3 to recreate this unreleased track from 2020 (back when my production skills were far more lacking). This is how the instruments break down...

I used London for the main drums and Glasgow for the KAPro Epic Drums during the buildups. The impact sound is Amsterdam, and I used Wolfsburg for the riser.

The sub bass is Dublin, and Pompei is the synth layered on top for the midbass.

Monpellier is the lead, Vancouver is what I used to load that JV-1080 Pizzi sound, and I used Chiangmai for the FM plucked square sound. The brass, strings, and flute all come from the Glasgow gadget.

Anyways, I hope you all enjoy. Cheers. 🍻

(P.S. I normally make an annual Halloween track, but I wasn't feeling it this year. This is what I made instead, lol.)

  • Just a gentle bump up. :)

  • Nice one! 👍
Love the breakdown and the way the changeups all hold together so nicely.

    I really appreciate it mate.

The KAPro Epic Drums had to be tamed a little with the IFX transient shaper (yes, in case others forget, Gadget 3 introduced a transient shaper lol), both to make them a little punchier and to shorten the tails. I also had to figure out how to program the rhythm itself. EQing alone didn't fix the muddiness of those particular drums. (Yes, for beginner producers, sometimes the best way to control muddiness in a mix is in how the rhythms of the low end are programmed rather than EQed.)

I figure I'd share that tidbit of info in case it helps anyone out. This can apply to any genre btw. :)

  • Wasn’t quite sure what the connection with bulls was at the start, but definitely became very clear. Good work as usual, and a bit of a veer away from your typical musical style of motif.

Thank you so kindly mate. :) I wanted to make it sound more experimental without it being Experimental. 😅

  • Muy bien, amigo. Muy bien.

I'm gobsmacked. "El Toro" now have nearly 600 plays on SoundCloud! 😱 (Most tracks usually only make it above 100-200 with that Next Pro subscription putting it in front of the right listeners, so when it reaches above 200, that means it has taken off for me personally.)

    EDIT: Now it's above 600! Holy sh-t I can't even, lol. 😂 Man I'm happy.

  • 1,060 and going up. Well deserved, very enjoyable track and great production as I would have expected 👌
