SEONN November Giveaway - FREE Drum Kits Pack for Koala Sampler

I’ve been a fan of Ampify Groovebox, but the problem has always been to get the sounds from Ampify Groovebox, in a useable way on iOS. So what I did was to sample my favourite sounds. It’s all about giving credit to Ampify Groovebox for a fantastic app, while encouraging a speedy workflow, creativity, and for users to explore the Ampify Groovebox, and Koala Sampler app.

So, have fun. Let me know what you think of the kit. It’s the pure sounds, complete with no effects, to allow you to experiment with presets like my Mixbox preset (which is now no longer available for download)

Also, as part of my “anti-manual” movement, here’s two photos explaining how to load the kits, and open the kit.

Summary is this:

  1. Download the kit
  2. Put the individual files in the Koala Songs Folder (requires you to extract the individual packs into Koala “Songs” folder
  3. Open Koala Sampler
  4. Load the song that has the drum kits

These kits are available to download for a limited time. Why? Because I gotta pay for storage space and my Drive space is almost full.

But, have fun. Here’s the Google Drive Link.

Are you really against manuals or am I missing context of an inside joke?

Both. I really hate writing manuals as an engineer. too many sleepless nights.

But it’s also an inside joke because a lot of people really love manuals. I feel manuals are definitely necessary, But I’m also an advocate of designing stuff to be so simple. You don’t need a manual.

This definitely depends on the end-users current 'level'...
...put a drill in the hands of someone who doesn't know what it's used for and total chaos is unavoidable?!

For me personally I don't really need any manuals for the more complex apps like Drambo or SunVox as they challenge me to learn to use the app on my own :sunglasses:

For hardware though (especially when assisting elderly users with devices I'm unfamiliar with) I'll skim thru the manual after the stuff I need to know to get the job/task done as quickly as possible...

And yes I absolutely HATE writing manuals (thankfully I don't have to do that anymore).

    Cheers!

I feel like the best user manual is to literally ask somebody who uses the tool. Most of the knowledge I’ve gained has always been through experience.

A book is an interpretation of what somebody has learned in the real world, but formalized. The good book called the Bible is a reflection of this. It took four different perspectives to tell the story of Jesus. But each one had something different to say and teach.

OK, religious affiliations aside, I am an advocate of making learning experiences as simple as possible.

Also, I'm working on a free sample pack called Sounds from Israel. Yes, I was literally in Israel last year.

Ditto, this reminds me of one of my math teachers back in school who thought us that multiple methods can be used to get to the same end result and this way we could pick a method that we found the easiest.

In this video clip you don't even have to understand what the teacher is saying, just look at her way of teaching the kids (my teacher used the same methods (and a few more) and that was early 80s).

This mindset can be applied when using the more complex apps where there's more than one way to do the 'same thing'.
Nothing will ever fully replace IRL meetups with instant feedback, video calls are really bad jokes in comparison...

Today people use a calculators but imagine if there's no electricity, no google, no cellphones etc??

I'd love to do and participate in a large scale social experiment where all electric is completely cut off...
...how many would be still able to start a fire without any modern tools like lighters?

I get where you're coming from, thanks for clarifying, I'm generally of the same mindset in terms of how things should be designed, but I can appreciate how different people prefer different approaches when learning things.

I loved this. It reminded me of my high school maths teacher (late 90s) who once lost her voice and taught us anyway. I remember even the most disruptive students were in complete silence and she got a standing ovation after those 90 minutes. (Note to the reader: this is not an endorsement of forcing people to work when they're sick).

I'll be honest...the only ways I can start a fire is with a battery and aluminum foil, or by directing a beam of sun. I haven't learned to use a flint.

    @Grandbear Appreciate you. Thanks.

@dmori Feel free to let me know if you have any difficulties in loading them. I'm working on a few more.

  • I like a good infographic, if possible, some apps just have too much, but apps like Dagger have a great 2 page infographic that works well.

  • Thanks for sharing @seonnthaproducer how big is the file?

Honestly, about 25MB. It's not that much. Problem is I've stored too many clips for video editing so I'm short on space.

  • Downloaded your import audio shortcuts script for Nanostudio 2. Thanks for creating it :)

Yea I’m packed to the gills with stuff on both devices, lol. 25mb is manageable though, thanks.

Wow, that made my day. Thank you. Glad a lot of people are still using the iOS shortcuts I made a while back.

Yeah, I'm trying to release stuff that are just big enough to be downloaded. Not a lot of people have infinite data plans.

Plus, the joy of music is sharing. I personally would like it if people shared it via Airdrop or whatever tools exists out there.
