Harmonicc - Create Inspiring Chord Progressions with Emojis!

Dive into harmony without any theory knowledge!

Harmonico's powerful Harmony Engine lets you explore deep chord progressions using emoji representations-making complex harmony fun and accessible. Choose a chord, and Harmonicc will instantly display the best next options in your chosen style, so your progressions always sound right and feel inspired.

Key Features

  • Harmony, Simplified: Build chord progressions quickly with emojis representing chord qualities, so you can focus on the sound without needing theory.
  • Guided Progressions: The Harmony Engine shows you the next possible chords based on your selection, minimizing errors and maximizing musicality in the chosen style.
  • Diverse Styles: Explore a wide range of musical styles, from classical to contemporary and everything in between, including Jazz, Swing, Rock, Pop, Blues, Funk, R&B, Bossa, Samba, Celtic, Flamenco, Electronic, and much more!
  • Advanced Sequencer: Record your chords, adjust each step with settings like duration, repeats, octaves, inversion, and add expressive strum or lofi effects.
  • Full MIDI Control: Play and trigger chords with a MIDI keyboard or sequencer, with separate MIDI outputs for chords and bass notes.
  • Pattern Chaining: Chain patterns for seamless play, or export sequences as MIDI files to expand your creations.
  • Preset Management with iCloud: Save and manage your custom presets in iCloud, allowing you to seamlessly share progressions across your devices, between the standalone app and the AUv3 plugin.
  • AUV3 MIDI Plugin Support: Use Harmonic as an AUV3 MIDI plugin inside your favorite DAW, enhancing your setup with powerful, intuitive chord progression tools.

Create, experiment, and let Harmonicc's Harmony Engine guide your musical journey. Start making beautiful progressions, no theory needed!

Please note: Harmonico is a MIDI app. The standalone version includes an optional internal synth, which you can enable or disable in the settings menu. The AUv3 plugin requires an external audio app for output and needs to be hosted within an app like AUM, Loopy Pro, Cubasis, Logic Pro, NanoStudio, Drambo, or apeMatrix.

Do you know, can you enter blank entries into the sequencer to make gaps? Yes I’ve not read the instructions yet lol

Trying it now, very cool. @ninobeatz : quick feature request: could you offer some variety in the Strum patterns? Like, ascending, descending, random, pendulum? I like playing the chords ‘strummed’ but verrrry slowwwwwly, and being able to inject some variety into the strum patterns would be great. The sequencer helps, but I’d still like to mess with the progression at the strum level.

Slight update: I notice that I can change ‘LoFi’ with a pattern running, but not the percentage of Strum. I have to stop the pattern for that. Not a biggie, but it would be nice if I could change the percentage of strum on the fly.

In the sequencer: a simple ‘press & hold to duplicate current chord’ would be great, in combo with the existing drag to rearrange feature, to easily and organically build an arrangement.

  • 😁👍🙏💶✔️😉

Great idea also maybe add a strum per chord basis rather than universal in the drop down menu.

  • I just bought it and being fairly “chord illiterate” I like this tool. Thanks @cem_olcay ! I have one problem with the app though and I might be the only one: The way how the display changes to display the next suggestions when you add a chord makes me sick - literally. Yes, I am very sensitive to flickering lights and have problems with migraines and ME/CFS. I think it’s that odd blank the window and then zoom in from the top left corner that makes my brain go nuts. For me the preferred way would be a no-frills cross fade without any blanking or zooming.

That's a very good point. I will add an option for disabling the animations.

Thanks a lot for the quick response and for adding an option to disable the animations. The human brain has many mysterious and odd sides…

And just for the record: The animations has same bad effect for me, so +1 thanks for adding an option to disable this!
