JWM - Impish (Reggae Inst (NOT Reggaeton!) done in Gadget 3)
Just felt like creating something a bit different and chill in Gadget 3 today. I didn't bother putting release notes in the SC description, so here they are...
I used Recife's CHat Detroit to drive the sidechaining. The boom and tape spin effects are Amsterdam. The main drums are London. I used Madrid for the guitar bass and layered Chiangmai for the sub bass underneath.
The Reggae guitar is SantaAna, the vox lead synth is the preset that loads first in Vancouver (yeah, was feeling lazy today lol), and the choir and strings are both Glasgow.
Finally, there's a background synth barely audible to fill out some space, which is Phoenix. And the riser was created in Wolfsburg.
Hope you all enjoy.

Gadget is so great. Hoping to see Korg open it up sometime this decade.
Nice work here… I loved the ambiguity of the intro playing the “where’s one” game and then the laid back reggae strut.
Me too. In a way, it's opened up in that I can load AUv3s into other hosts. However, the reverse is not true yet in that I can load AUv3s in there.
But regardless, Gadget is amazing. I mean, it better be since I invested a lot of money into the whole "iOS Korg Ecosystem", getting every last IAP of every last compatible app over the years. 😂
In fact, I just finished some client work in Gadget. I am flippin exhausted at the moment.
Thanks mate. I really appreciate your kind words.
Dude, that was awesome. Thanks for sharing
Nice one. I like the spacious, open sounding arrangement. Just enough to get the point across. I haven’t listened to reggae for years. This made me smile.
@jaijai Of course, and thank you for enjoying.
@Paulieworld I'm so glad to hear that. Yeah, with EDM it's all about layering, layering, layering. With Reggae, it's about a more open, less-packed arrangement. An easier-going vibe.
Is there a genre of Smiley music ?
It worked for me 😊
I've been getting back into reggae (and ska) myself recently. Time for a big comeback.
Not bad but if would remix it I’d totally make it reggaetón
@GeoTony Thank you so kindly mate. That was my intent with this one.
@NeuM I agree mate. Reggae is just a fantastic genre, and oh man I haven't listened to Ska since my mid to late teens. 😅 It was a phase, but maybe I'll dig back into it on Spotify.
@pedro Oh yeah, I love Reggaeton a lot. That'd be pretty cool. I may try it once I return to beat-based music.
And then all of a sudden this appeared… must be something in the air.
